For the past six years, the Rebelle Rally offered an opportunity for adventurous women to tackle a 2,500-kilometer run over the roughest and most challenging terrain across California and Nevada. The J.D. Power Initial Quality Study is one of the most important indicators on how well our vehicles hold up within the first year of ownership. Our work has paid off! It is great news to learn that the Ram and Dodge brands ranked in first and second place in this year’s Initial Quality Study. Compared with 2020’s results, Ram’s industry-leading total improved by 13 PP100 to 128. Dodge was next with 139, five PP100 fewer than its nearest competitors. The Jeep Gladiator also led its segment in the study. In fact, the Gladiator, along with strong study showings by the Grand Cherokee, helped Jeep to achieve a score of 149. This puts them 13 PP100 better than the industry average of 162. Also, the Chrysler 300 scored very well in this survey. This gives half of Stellantis vehicles sold across all brands a place among the top three of each segment in the study. Remember the days you were in school and decided that doodling your dream car was better than taking notes. One day those drawings would become works of art – or, rather, a design for a new vehicle. Every year since 2013, Stellantis North America’s design team puts on a contest called Drive For Design. This contest encourages young talented students to pursue careers in automotive design. There is also an educational component to help guide these future designers towards that direction in the automotive industry. This year’s challenge was to design an electrified Jeep of the future within a 10-week timeframe. Entries across the country were compiled, reviewed, and judged by members of the Stellantis North America design team. This years winners The three student winners of the 2021 Drive for Design competition are: First place – Vincent Piaskowski, 12th grade, Michigan Second place – Rocco Morales, 10th grade, Michigan Third place – Alex Wang, 12th grade, California This year’s prizes include one-on-one mentoring time with leading designers at the Stellantis Design Studios in Auburn Hills, Michigan, a scholarship to attend College for Creative Studies virtual summer design program and more.
