Since the end of World War II, the Jeep Wrangler and its predecessors have been some of the most popular off-road vehicles ever produced. They’re so familiar that people expect that they’ve been around forever.

Looking toward the future with electrification in mind, the 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is a prime example of the coming time of off-road fun. A gasoline engine and a rechargeable electric motor combine to take you further—while caring for the environment. The four-door-only Wrangler 4xe lineup consists of Sport S 4xe, Willys 4xe, Sahara 4xe, Rubicon 4xe, Rubicon X 4xe, and High Altitude 4xe (late availability).

Performance

The plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) Jeep Wrangler 4xe starts with a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder making 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The addition of an integrated transmission traction motor (134 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque) and 14-kWh battery pack give the PHEV Wrangler a combined power output of 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. 4xe models can travel up to 21 miles on just the electric battery and tow up to 3,500 pounds.

Exterior

The exterior of the 2025 Wrangler retains its iconic seven-slot grille, plus a stealth antenna that won’t be getting hung up on anything when driving off-road, the latest Sky One-Touch Power-Top, and more.

While all 2025 Wrangler models have the option of a soft or hardtop in black or body color, the Sky One-Touch Power-Top is optional on all models above the Sport. The Sky One-Touch Power-Top allows you to open the roof like a giant sunroof all the way back to the cargo area. The edges of the roof are a hardtop while the center is a soft top. And best of all: the doors and rear windows can still be removed, allowing for the open-cabin style that Wrangler owners love.

The standard wheels are 17 inches on nearly all models, except for Sahara, which gets 18s; Sport S 4xe and Sahara 4xe have 20-inch wheels as standard. Stock tire sizes range from 32 up to 33-inch tires. There’s a new military olive drab-inspired exterior paint color called ’41.

Interior

Buyers will love the latest interior touches that are both standard and available for 2025 Wrangler 4xe models. Rubicon X models receive acoustic front glass; thicker carpets; and additional sound deadening foam in the B-pillars, front cowl, and windshield header. This will give all passengers a quieter driving and riding experience.

The instrument panel offers soft-touch fabric or polyurethane surfaces that feature contrast accent stitching. For those looking to mount a camera or phone, the dashboard offers AMPS bracket mountability. Power locks and power windows are now standard on all Wrangler models. Available Active Cabin Ventilation allows customers to better pre-ventilate the cabin via mobile app before entering.

Technology

The 2025 Wrangler 4xe models get the 12.3-inch touchscreen display featuring the award-winning Uconnect 5. The latest updated system runs five times faster than before and can get over-the-air (OTA) updates that can bring new features and services.

The Uconnect 5 system offers: Trails Offroad, five user profiles plus a valet mode (that allow owners to customize a plethora of preferences), Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a customizable home screen (to easier access to your most used apps and features), Bluetooth connectivity to two phones at the same time, Alexa Home to Car functionality, the Uconnect mobile app, SiriusXM 360L, TomTom navigation, OTA map updates, and a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot that can connect up to eight devices at the same time.

All occupants will be happy with the ability to charge their devices while in the Wrangler. There are now dual USB-C ports up front with up to seven USB-A and USB-C ports throughout the vehicle, plus a 12-volt outlet and 115-volt AC outlet. This allows you to plug in three-pronged plugs for laptops or what have you.

4xe models feature Power Box, which features four 120-volt outlets with 30 total amps of output that allow the Wrangler 4xe to power external devices.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Wrangler models offer the availability of more than 85 advanced safety and security features that include Forward Collision Warning, advanced cruise control with stop-and-go, Blind-Spot and cross-path detection, ParkSense rear park-assist, ParkView rear backup camera with dynamic grid lines, traction and electronic stability control (ESC) with electronic roll mitigation, and more.
