2025 Jeep Compass
2025 Jeep Compass

The compact SUV category is the largest-selling and most crowded segment in the U.S. However, only one model in the segment carries the heritage and SUV expertise of a Jeep, and that is the 2025 Jeep Compass.
All 2025 Compass models come standard with 4-wheel drive. It also features the best-in-class standard horsepower, torque, and premium on-road manners.
Performance

All 2025 Compass models include a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 that produces 200 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque, which is more standard power than any other model in its class. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to all four wheels.
To further assist the 4x4 system, the Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System adjusts the engine response, transmission shifting, torque distribution, and traction control systems to optimize traction and control under various driving conditions. Specific driving modes are Auto, Rock, Sand/Mud, and Snow. Available On the 2025 Trailhawk is a 4x4 low range, which provides a 20:1 crawl ratio for very rugged terrain. As all models have the same drivetrain, they all have the same EPA- mpg estimates of 24 in the city and 32 on the highway for a combined figure of 27 MPG.
The 2025 Compass offers a smooth ride with a 4-wheel independent suspension system. Up front, it has a MacPherson suspension with rigid control arms that allow over 6 inches of articulation. At the rear, it has a multi-link arrangement with coil springs. The Trailhawk is the most off-road-focused model, with a raised off-road tuned suspension, all-terrain tires, and a tighter turning radius for greater maneuverability on and off the pavement.
Exterior
The 2025 Compass wears the iconic Jeep seven-intake grille in low-wide form, which has become standard on Jeep's more road-going SUVs. The profile shows sophisticated surfacing over squared-off front and rear wheel openings. Wheel sizes from 17 to 19 inches wrapped by all-season or all-terrain tires can fill those openings.
A unique design feature particularly noticeable on models with bright window trim is a trim piece defining the upper windows that slope behind the D-Pillar to form the lower border of the tailgate window. This is not only an elegant design detail, but it also separates the roof from the pillars to neatly accommodate two-tone exterior paint schemes, which are available on the Latitude and standard on the Limited and Trailhawk models. Available on all but the base Sport model is the Sun and Sound group, which features a dual-pane panoramic sunroof together with an Alpine speaker system.
Interior
The interior of the 2025 Compass is both elegant and uncluttered. A soft, padded seat-color middle section with contrast stitching defines the space and gives it its horizontal theme. The 10.1-inch infotainment display sits proudly in the center. Behind it is an extended recessed area with chrome trim that conceals the HVAC side vents. Below the screen are the center vents with a full set of hard climate controls for quick adjustment that does not involve screen menus. Below those controls is a tray perfectly sized for a smartphone that can be a wireless charger on some models.
Depending on the trim level, seating surfaces range from cloth to leatherette to premium leather. Likewise, driver seat adjustment ranges from 6-way manual to 8-way power-adjustable for Latitude Lux and higher models.
Rear passengers have a generous 38.3 inches of legroom and 55 inches of shoulder room. In addition, the high seat bottoms of the rear seat mean that the rear passenger’s legs are well supported, so even long rides can be comfortable. Behind the rear seats is 27 cubic feet of cargo space. This grows to over twice as much at 60 cubic feet when both the 60 and 40 sides of the rear seatbacks are folded.
Should you want to carry more, roof rails are standard on all but the Sport model, and Jeep accessories have crossbars and other items to help you do so. When properly equipped, the towing capacity is 2,000 pounds for all models.
Technology
The large 10.1-inch center touchscreen is standard in all modes and is operated by the well-thought-out Uconnect 5 system. The system features an easy-to-operate icon system for accessing various functions. Below are several fixed controls to get you to specific system controls no matter what is on the screen. Uconnect also features an effective and intuitive voice command system, which can be particularly useful when trying to locate a specific song from your phone.
Speaking of phones, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility is standard with this system, thus all models. A wireless charging pad is a package feature available on all models except the Sport model. The Alpine audio system, which is part of the Sun and Sound Package, has a 12-channel 506-watt amplifier, nine speakers, and a dual-voice coil 8-inch subwoofer.
Safety and Driver Assistance
Standard on all models is a blind spot warning system and a Forward Collision warning system that will also actively operate the brakes if necessary to mitigate an impact. Also standard across the model line is the Active Lane Management System, which will continually monitor your vehicle's position within the lane and make subtle steering adjustments that help keep you centered in the lane and prevent your vehicle from drifting out of the lane.
Starting with the Latitude, each model has an available assist package. The features vary by model, but all include:
- Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go ability
- Parallel and Perpendicular Park and Unpark Assist
- ParkSense front and rear park-assist system
- Rain-sensitive intermittent wipers
- 360 Surround-View camera system
