The HEMI® Is Back: Why Ram Brought Back the V8 in the 2026 Ram 1500

If you've been wondering what happened to Ram’s legendary HEMI® V8 engine - and why it’s making a comeback in the 2026 Ram 1500 - you’re not alone. At Benna Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Superior, WI, we’ve been getting tons of questions from drivers in the Twin Ports region about the HEMI’s status. Today, we’re clearing up the facts and breaking down what you need to know - from why it was discontinued to what’s new in the 2026 Ram models. Whether you're searching for a new Ram truck near Duluth, MN or just want to understand what makes the HEMI engine so iconic, we’ve got all the details down below. What Makes the Ram HEMI® Engine a Legend on the Road? When you hear “HEMI®,” you think power, performance, and pure American muscle. At Benna CDJR, we proudly offer a lineup of Ram trucks equipped with the iconic HEMI V8 engine - a true symbol of strength that has stood the test of time. But what exactly is a HEMI engine, and why is it such a big deal? Let’s break it down. What is a HEMI® Engine? “HEMI” refers to the engine’s hemispherical combustion chambers. Unlike conventional flat-head engines, the HEMI design allows for a more efficient air-fuel mix, better combustion, and improved airflow. The result? More horsepower, more torque, and greater efficiency. This design dates back decades but has been refined over the years to power heavy-duty trucks like the legendary Ram 1500, Ram 2500, and Ram 3500. Why Was the HEMI® V8 Discontinued? For the 2025 model year, Ram made a bold move by replacing the popular 5.7L HEMI® V8 in the Ram 1500 with the new 3.0L Hurricane twin-turbo inline-6 engine. As reported by Kelley Blue Book, the decision was based on: Fuel efficiency & emissions standards: As regulations tightened, Ram shifted toward more efficient, turbocharged engines. Corporate strategy: Stellantis (Ram’s parent company) focused on smaller, globalized powertrains across brands. Performance goals: The Hurricane I6 offers similar or better performance numbers with improved efficiency. While these reasons made sense on paper, loyal Ram fans and HEMI enthusiasts weren’t thrilled. The legendary V8’s powerful sound, iconic feel, and brand identity couldn’t be replaced by numbers alone. Why Ram Is Bringing Back the HEMI in 2026 In short: Ram listened to its customers - and responded. For 2026, the 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine is officially back in the Ram 1500 lineup. According to MotorTrend, Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis even admitted they had “screwed up” by removing the HEMI and brought it back is a direct result of overwhelming customer demand. This move sends a strong message: Ram understands that power, performance, and tradition still matter to truck buyers - especially here in the Northland, where capability counts year-round. What’s New with the 2026 HEMI® V8? The returning 5.7L HEMI® V8 brings back everything Ram fans love - with a few modern upgrades. ✔ Same Proven Performance: 395 horsepower 410 lb-ft of torque Paired with the eTorque mild hybrid system for better fuel economy, smoother start/stop, and added low-end torque ✔ New Styling Touches: All HEMI-equipped Ram 1500 trucks now include a new V8 badge - a bold visual statement of power and pride. As CNBC described it, the badge is a “Symbol of Protest” - a nod to how Ram listened to its most loyal fans and responded. ✔ Enhanced Exhaust & Tuning: Tuned for a more aggressive sound, giving drivers that classic V8 rumble they know and love. ✔ Available on Multiple Trims: The HEMI is now an optional upgrade, allowing more choice across trim levels like Big Horn, Laramie, and Limited. Ram 1500 with a HEMI® vs Hurricane I6: Which Is Right for You? Now that the HEMI is back, many customers are asking: which engine should I choose? Engine Horsepower Torque Fuel Efficiency Towing 5.7L HEMI® V8 395 hp 410 lb-ft Moderate Excellent 3.0L Hurricane I6 HO 540 hp 521 lb-ft Better Excellent 3.0L Hurricane I6 SO 420 hp 468 lb-ft Better Excellent The Hurricane I6 offers cutting-edge performance and improved MPG, but if you crave classic V8 power, better throttle response, and that unmistakable engine sound, the HEMI is still the go-to. At Benna CDJR, we help buyers compare both to choose the best fit for their needs - whether you're hauling gear to the job site or heading north for a weekend cabin trip. The Jeep® brand is charging into the electrified SUV segment with the reveal of its first global battery-electric vehicle (BEV) – the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S Launch Edition. The all-new, all-electric 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S will launch first in the U.S. and Canada and later in markets around the world. Available in Jeep brand dealerships starting in the fall of 2024, the Wagoneer S Launch Edition has a starting U.S. MSRP of $71,995 (including destination, excluding EV credits).

Wagoneer S and 1500 Ramcharger Among Newsweek's Most Anticipated Vehicles for 2025

If you pay attention to the automotive industry, very few models emerge on the market as a surprise. Manufacturers show vehicles at auto shows at least several months prior to being available and often announce the models months, if not years, before that. So we hear about the models, sometimes see them in spy photos, and finally see them at auto shows, but we still must wait a season or two before they are available to the public. This leads to several models being anticipated. Newsweek acknowledges this with an annual list of the most anticipated vehicles. Benna Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (CDJR) is happy to see two CDJR vehicles on their list for 2025. These are the Wagoneer S and the 1500 Ramcharger. Jeep Wagoneer S The Jeep Wagoneer S will be the brand’s first-ever battery-electric vehicle (BEV). The model was expected for late 2024, but Jeep had some fine-tuning to ensure the model would be as perfectly executed as possible. Though it shares the Wagoneer’s name, it is quite a different vehicle. To start, it is smaller, with two-row seating instead of three.  The exterior is also quite different, being lower with a more angled rear and black pillars between the side windows for a long, unbroken dark appearance leading to a more radically angled d-pillar. Elegant wind tunnel sculpting is evident from front to rear. The Wagoneer will be powered by a pair of electric motors, one up front and one between the rear wheels, for standard all-wheel drive. The two motors will have a combined horsepower of 600 with 617 lb-ft of torque available when the motor starts turning. 0-60 acceleration is expected in 4.4 seconds, and if you don’t do such acceleration runs all the time, the range is expected to be 300 miles from the 100.5nlithium-ion battery. With a 400-volt electric architecture, direct-DC charging is expected to go from 20 to 80 percent in 23 minutes. With day-to-day recommended Level 2 charging, the battery should charge from 5 to 80% in about seven hours. Looking inside reveals what will be the most technically advanced Jeep to date. Across the horizontal dash will be a combined 45 inches of usable screen space, customizable LED lighting, and an available 19-speaker McIntosh audio system. This will also be the first Jeep model with electronic door releases. A Jeep Wagoneer S Launch Edition will be the first model available and is expected to be fully loaded. It will have an MSRP of $71,995, including the destination charge. Other Wagoneer S models are expected to follow. 1500 Ramcharger Building off of what many consider the best pickup truck line in the U.S., the Ram Charger is essentially a battery-electric truck with a range-extending gas-powered generator. You could call it a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), but it doesn’t tell the whole story. While most PHEVs offer an EV-only range of about 30-45 miles, the Ramcharger’s 92 kWh battery will have an expected 145 miles of EV-only power with a total expected range of 690 miles when the gas engine is involved. This means that the Ramcharger will basically be an emission-free EV for essentially all day-to-day driving, while extended trips will be free of recharging worries. If you do want to recharge on the road, the 1500 Ramcharger is unlike most PHEVs in that its 400-volt system will work with DC fast charging stations to add 50 miles of EV range in just 10 minutes. The electric motors combine to produce 663 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque. The vehicle is expected to have a tow rating of up to 14,000 pounds. The onboard 3.6-liter Pentastar engine will operate as a generator for the electric motors. The Ramcharger will appear from all angles as a Ram 1500 with different lighting and subtle aerodynamic enhancements. Both models will be available to consumers in the 2025 calendar year. If Newsweek is highly anticipating the availability of these models, imagine how much Benna CDJR can’t wait to start offering them. If you want to be the first to check out either of these exciting new models, ask one of our sales professionals to notify you when the first models arrive.

2025 Jeep® Wagoneer

2025 Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer Offer Lower Pricing and More Content

The Jeep Wagoneer has staked a firm hold in the full-size SUV market as a classy alternative to established competitors like the Ford Expedition, the very established Chevy Tahoe/Suburban, and its twins from GMC. Jeep now intends to conquer the segment with the simple strategy of offering more and costing less. Benna Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (CDJR) tells you more. With a starting MSRP of $59,945, the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer is the most affordable full-size SUV in the U.S. It is not just the base model that is less expensive—prices have been reduced across the model line. The Grand Wagoneer, which is equipped to take on large luxury-brand SUVs, also has more competitive pricing. The MSRP for both 2025 model lines is as follows: 2025 Model & Trim Levels 2025 MSRP* MSRP Change From 2024 Jeep Wagoneer Jeep Wagoneer 4x2 $59,945 -$3,000 Jeep Wagoneer 4x4 $62,945 -$3,000 Jeep Wagoneer Series II 4x2 $63,945 -$5,185 Jeep Wagoneer Series II 4x4 $66,945 -$5,185 Jeep Wagoneer Series III 4x4 $73,945 -$5,685 Jeep Wagoneer L 4x2 $62,945 -$3,000 Jeep Wagoneer L 4x4 $65,945 -$3,000 Jeep Wagoneer L Series II 4x4 $69,945 -$5,185 Jeep Wagoneer L Series III 4x4 $76,945 -$5,685 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Jeep Grand Wagoneer 4x4 $84,945 -$7,000 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Series II Obsidian 4x4 $98,945 -$5,495 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Series III 4x4 $107,945 -$4,650 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L Obsidian 4x4 $101,945 -$5,495 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L Series III 4x4 $110,945 -$4,650 * Excludes $2,000 Destination Fee The better news is that the lower pricing comes with even more content. Additional Wagoneer model line features include standard 20-inch aluminum wheels, Active Lane Management, and adaptive cruise control. The Grand Wagoneer model line now sees additions such as standard 22-inch aluminum wheels outside and a standard front passenger interactive display inside. The model line has also added new standard safety features such as Intersection Collision Assist (which helps prevent collisions at intersections by detecting other vehicles and providing audible and visual alerts) and Drowsy Driver Detection (which monitors the vehicle’s movement—including lane deviation and subsequent interaction—to detect possible driver fatigue). For anyone who takes road trips, a special new feature called Hands-Free Driving Assist is now available on the standard wheelbase Grand Wagoneer Series II Obsidian and Series III. This enables true hands-free driving on over 125,000 pre-mapped miles of U.S. highways. As a further enhancement, the High-Output Hurricane Twin Turbo inline-six engine, which is standard on Grand Wagoneer models, has a power increase and now produces up to 540 hp and 521 lb-ft of torque–even as it lowers emissions and maintains the same fuel economy. "Built to appeal to the heart of the full-size SUV market, the Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Wagoneer lineups are now even better equipped and more competitively priced for the 2025 model year,” said Bob Broderdorf, senior vice president of Jeep North America. “By lowering MSRPs as much as $7,000 and enhancing standard equipment, such as adaptive cruise control on the Wagoneer and a front passenger interactive display on the Grand Wagoneer, these vehicles have become even more compelling.” 2025 Wagoneers and Grand Wagoneers are expected to arrive in Benna CDJR’s inventory prior to the end of the 2024 calendar year and may be in stock by the time you read this. You can check our inventory tool for their arrival or have one of our sales professionals notify you of their initial arrival.

MotorTrend Names the Ram 3500 Its Best Dually

Big one-ton dual-rear-wheel pickup trucks top the list of things we love in the Twin Ports. These trucks carry the load, tow the big trailers, and take over any roads on which they ride. There is a choice of four such pickup trucks. MotorTrend did a comparison of all four, and only one came out on top: the 2024 Ram 3500. MotorTrend cites the Ram 3500 Heavy Duty because of its “solid towing manners and dramatically sumptuous interior when properly optioned. It’s a work truck for the boss.” It starts with a “burly design,” sports a “luxurious interior,” and ultimately feels “confident towing a trailer.” The towing part is important to a Ram 3500 owner. With dual rear wheels, the rear part of the frame is crafted to handle up to 37,090 pounds of trailer from a gooseneck or fifth-wheel connection. Large travel trailers or farm implements carried on a flatbed hauler present no problems for the dually. Towing is made more confident with the available Cummins High Output 6.7-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder diesel. This engine puts down 1,075 pound-feet of torque and was the first pickup truck in its weight class to offer more than 1,000 pound-feet of torque. It also helps to get the right rear axle ratio to deliver that power to tow its weight, which is why the Ram 3500 dual-rear-wheel pickup truck offers an available 4.10 axle ratio for larger jobs. Its “burly design” comes from the influence long-haul trucks have on Ram’s overall look. No one can mistake the big grille and lowered front fenders with excellent lighting units when it comes down the highway—or logging road—to accomplish the task at hand. That design continues rearward with the extended fenders to cover the dual rear wheels. Aerodynamics play a huge part to ensure that the Ram 3500 flows through the air without interfering with the job of towing or hauling goods in the box. Ram has been recognized as a leader in cab interior design. When you need your crew to join you on a job or to get away, they need to be comfortable. With seating for five or six, the Crew Cab offers exceptional space both front and back. Plus, they are treated to big, comfortable seats for that long haul out of town. Everyone will enjoy the best materials, no matter which trim level they choose. From durable surfaces in the Tradesman to luxurious leather in the Limited Longhorn, you are treated to a well thought out interior. The 12.0-inch infotainment touchscreen is powered by UConnect 5, providing a wide choice of connectivity and playback options to get you there with a soundtrack to keep you moving forward. All of this is wrapped up in one tough, capable package. If the 2024 Ram 3500 dual-rear-wheel pickup truck is your rig of choice, contact us at Benna Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and get yourself the dually chosen by MotorTrend as the best.

The 2025 Ram 1500 Has the Power You Need

How much power do you need when it comes to pickup trucks? It all comes down to how you use your pickup truck. The are two new engines available for the 2025 Ram 1500. Both of them are called Hurricane. They are twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engines with dual overhead camshafts and 24 valves. Why two of the same engines? The Hurricane comes in two different performance levels. The one you’ve been hearing about is the High Output version with 540 horsepower and 521 pound-feet of torque. However, there is a Standard Output version with 420 horsepower and 469 pound-feet of torque. Most 2025 Ram 1500s come with the Standard Output version. The Standard Output engine can carry the weight. Depending on trim level and configuration, the 2025 Ram 1500 with this engine can tow up to 11,600 pounds when equipped with a rear axle ratio of 3.92. Payloads can go up to 1,900 pounds, also depending on trim level and configuration. In a recent test, MotorTrend took a four-wheel drive, Crew Cab, five-foot seven-inch bed 2025 Ram 1500 Laramie to see how the Standard Output Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six performed. The phrase the editors used to describe this configuration and engine specification was “great power.” There is more than just “great power” with the Standard Output Hurricane engine. There is improved efficiency. The Environmental Protection Agency has rated it to achieve up to 24 mpg on the highway with four-wheel drive. With a 26-gallon standard fuel tank, that translates to a maximum fuel range of 624 miles. With the available 33-gallon fuel tank, that maximum range extends to 792 miles. We understand that there is “no replacement for displacement.” However, if you compare the 2025 Ram 1500 with the Standard Output Hurricane engine to the previous Hemi V-8 with the eTorque 48-volt electric hybrid system, you will find that the discontinued engine put down less performance—395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque—and returned lower fuel economy ratings. You can get the Standard Output Hurricane engine in the 2025 Ram 1500 Tradesman, Warlock, Big Horn, Laramie, and Rebel. The High Output version is available in higher trim levels, such as the RHO, Limited, Tungsten, and Longhorn. If the 2025 Ram 1500 is your solution to achieve “great power” at work or play, contact us at Benna Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram to get yours soon! See why it has become the preferred power source for Twin Ports pickup truck owners.

2025 Jeep® Gladiator Texas Trail

Jeep Gladiator: What's New for 2025?

Look at any pickup truck model line sold in the U.S., and you will find at least one trim level tailored toward off-roading. Sometimes, this amounts to little more than an appearance package with all-terrain tires. Others have had some pretty impressive hardware added to them. But there is still only one pickup truck model line designed and built from the ground up to tackle off-road challenges, and only one that comes from a company with such capability as its core reason for existing. We are talking about the Jeep Gladiator, of course, which heads into the 2025 model year stronger than ever. Benna Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram (CDJR) explains in detail. The Gladiator is available in Sport, Sport S, Willys, Trail Rated Rubicon and Rubicon X, and Desert Rated Mojave and Mojave X. Every model comes standard with four-wheel drive. Powering every Gladiator is the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, rated at 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. For 2025, every model has a standard 8-speed automatic transmission. However, that will change later in the year with the introduction of the Jeep Gladiator 4xe plug-in hybrid model. It is part of the Jeep brand’s mission to offer an electrified variant of all Jeep vehicles sold in North America by the end of 2025. Details are not yet available, but the Gladiator 4xe can be expected to have the same drivetrain as found in the Wrangler 4xe. This pairs a 2.0-liter inline-4 engine with an electric motor for a total system net horsepower of 375. In the Wrangler, the battery is large enough to operate on electricity alone for 21 miles. One sure means of showing that the Gladiator is literally the Jeep of pickup trucks is that it is available with no less than four different four-wheel-drive systems, each tailored to the kind of off-pavement activities you have in mind: Command-Trac part-time transfer case with 2.72:1 low-range ratio Selec-Trac full-time transfer case with 2.72:1 low range ratio Rock-Trac part-time transfer case with 4:1 low range ratio Rock-Trac full-time transfer case with 4:1 low range ratio Named for the trail it was designed to conquer, the Gladiator Rubicon has a best-in-class crawl ratio of 77:1 and features impressive clearances: Approach angle: 44.7 degrees Breakover angle: 20.9 degrees Departure angle: 26 degrees Ground clearance: 11.6 inches Also new for 2025 is that all models come standard with power windows and door locks. A new available feature called Active Cabin Ventilation enables drivers to pre-condition their vehicle's cabin, evacuating hot air in warmer weather before entering the vehicle through the Jeep Connect mobile app. The remaining change for 2025 is two new paint colors: Fathom Blue’41 (military olive drab) From its unique ability to remove door and roof panels to the way off-road trails are built directly into the navigation system, there simply is no off-road pickup truck like the Gladiator. Visit Benna CDJR and check out the 2025 Gladiator for yourself because among pickup trucks, there is only one Jeep.

3.0 Hurricane Straight Six High Output Engine Wards 10Best Engines

3.0-liter Hurricane High Output Straight-Six Turbo Engine Named to Wards 10 Best Engines & Propulsion Systems List

The all-new 2025 Ram 1500 has only recently started making its way into the hands of owners, and the truck is already picking up awards. This time, the 3.0-liter Hurricane High Output engine has been named to Wards 10 Best Engines and Propulsion Systems List. The second-generation Ram pickup changed the truck world when it debuted in 1994 and continues to do so two decades later. What An Engine The 3.0-liter Hurricane High Output (H/O) Straight-Six Turbo (SST) engine puts out 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with the TorqueFlight 8-speed automatic transmission and is featured in the Ram 1500 Longhorn, Limited, RHO, and Tungsten trim levels. What is Wards 10 Best Engines and Propulsion Systems? Wards 10 Best Engines is an annual list that has been taking place for the past 30 years. Every year, the best engines are tested by Wards and evaluated for their power and torque, as well as noise, vibration, harshness (NVH), and various technical aspects of the engines against one another. There is no instrumented testing carried out because that is more of an understanding of a car’s overall performance. This is the tenth time a Ram engine has been one of Wards 10 Best engines since the list’s inception in 1994 for 1995 models. A Word from Stellantis “We engineered our Hurricane twin turbo engines to be powerful, efficient, robust and versatile, delivering performance that enhances the driving experience both on- and off-road, and while towing,” said Micky Bly, Head of Global Propulsion Systems of Stellantis. “The 3.0-liter Hurricane High Output engine, standard in the 2025 Ram 1500 Tungsten, exemplifies our ability to satisfy a range of truck customer needs, offering power, performance, capability and class-leading NHV in one package.” A Word from Wards “The Hurricane High-Output Straight-Six Turbo packs a powerful punch from launch to well past legal speed, while also delivering promised fuel economy that represents an improvement over the HEMI® V-8 it replaces,” says Bob Gritzinger, Wards Editor-in-Chief. “I like the assured rumble from the High-Output I-6. This engine should sway even the most rabid V-8 buyer into the 6-cylinder family.” Two Engines to Rule Them All The Hurricane engine line are some of the most powerful 6-cylinders ever put into a vehicle, especially a pickup truck. While the High Output engine was one of Wards 10 Best, buyers are also falling in love with the Standard Output (S/O) engine that produces 420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque in the Tradesman, Big Horn, Lone Star, Laramie, and Rebel pickups. While having 540 horsepower on tap is a nice feeling, lots of customers just don’t need or want that kind of power on a daily basis. Both engines offer buyers the choice of what they prefer. At Benna Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we offer some of the best prices and services to all of our customers. With dozens of new and used vehicles to choose from, our great sales team and finance department will work hard to make sure you drive away happy. And our amazing service department will take care of your new-to-you vehicle as if it were their own.

Ram 1500 RHO Entering 2024 Rebelle Rally with Team Brute Squad

During the ninth-annual 2024 Rebelle Rally from October 10-19, automotive journalists Jill Ciminillo and Kristin Shaw will take control of a 2025 Ram 1500 RHO in the Bone Stock and 4x4 divisions. The Rebelle Rally is a purely all-women event that tests driving and navigational skills through 1,500 miles of California and Nevada’s off-road desert terrain. A Special Team of Journalists As a team, this is the third entry for both Ciminillo and Shaw, who are called Team Brute Squad. This is the first year the journalists will use a Ram truck. The Rally takes place over eight intense days that will see the ladies working hard to find headings and hidden checkpoints—while time and distance play major roles. Their only guidance is a map, a compass, and a roadbook that are provided by the event organizers. There are no GPS systems or cell phones allowed. A Word from Ram “The Ram 1500 RHO is right at home in the Rebelle Rally, and we’re proud to support Team Brute Squad in this year’s event,” said Chris Feuell, Ram brand CEO – Stellantis. “Our trucks are tested in the toughest environments, and this event is a unique way to showcase how RHO reinforces North America’s leading off-road truck lineup.” Ram SHO Engine and Performance The 2024 Ram 1500 RHO offers the all-new 3.0-liter Hurricane High Output (H/O) Straight-Six Turbo (SST), which puts out 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque. With a claimed 0 to 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds and 0 to 100 mph time of only 11.7 seconds, the RHO is one fast truck. The Ram RHO can also get through the ¼-mile in 13.1 seconds at 105 mph. Special Features That Will Help Jill and Kristin Win With its BorgWarner 48-13 full-time active transfer case and 2.64:1 low range, the Ram RHO is genuinely the perfect truck for the Rebelle Rally. The Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shocks, along with the truck’s independent front suspension, will adjust the damping forces for ultimate body control and terrain isolation. The special Bilsteins can seamlessly adapt to on- and off-road driving to maintain utmost comfort and performance handling. The unique design of the rear suspension allows the RHO to have 14 inches of rear axle travel, which is 40% greater than all other Ram 1500 models. Why The Rebelle Rally is So Meaningful The Rebelle Rally is a unique event for women who love motorsports and off-roading. Combining their passion and abilities, teams work hard to overcome obstacles, get through the challenging terrain, and complete the overall event. While this may be the third Rally for the two journalists, there is never an easy day when you have to spend 1,500 miles navigating through the desert. Literally anything can and will go wrong. Good luck, ladies. All of Benna Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram are cheering for you!

Both Ram 1500 and Jeep Gladiator Compete in the 2024 Rebelle Rally

Benna Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram is proud to tell you that Ram and Jeep’s toughest off-road pickup trucks will be well represented in the 2024 Rebelle Rally, with participant vehicles including both the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO and 2025 Jeep Gladiator Mojave. The Rally will run from October 10-19 and cover over 1,500 miles of California and Nevada desert. The 2024 Rebelle Rally will be the ninth annual running of this first and only all-women navigation off-road rally. The Ram Team A team of two journalists will run the Ram 1500 RHO. The team's driver is Kristin Shaw, an accomplished freelance journalist who writes for the automotive and aviation fields. Her articles can be found in notable publications such as Popular Science, Car and Driver, I nsideEVs, Edmunds, Forbes, Road & Track, A Girls Guide to Cars, Motor1, Airport Improvement magazine, and many more. Team navigator Jill Ciminillo is also an experienced automotive writer, managing editor of Pickup Truck+SUV Talk, and contributing editor to Consumer Guide Automotive. She is also a popular podcaster and YouTube personality. The two call their team the Brute Squad, and this is the team’s third Rebelle Rally (but their first time in a Ram 1500 RHO). The truck is powered by the all-new 3.0-liter Hurricane High Output (H/O) twin-turbocharged inline-6 engine, the most powerful from the Stellantis Hurricane engine lineup. The Hurricane High Output engine is rated at 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque, which makes it the strongest Ram 1500 ever. Its horsepower and torque are greater than any other naturally aspirated V-8 or boosted six-cylinder engine in the light-duty segment, and it offers more horsepower per dollar than any other premium off-road full-size pickup. “The Ram 1500 RHO is right at home in the Rebelle Rally, and we’re proud to support Team Brute Squad in this year’s event,” said Chris Feuell, Ram brand CEO – Stellantis. “Our trucks are tested in the toughest environments, and this event is a unique way to showcase how RHO reinforces North America’s leading off-road truck lineup.” The Jeep Team The veteran team of Nena Barlow and Teralin Petereit will drive the Jeep Gladiator. Barlow operates Barlow Adventures, which offers four-wheel-drive training, Jeep SUV rentals, and guided trips throughout the southwestern United States. Petereit is a nurse from Utah who has embraced off-roading as a hobby, navigating numerous trails and competitions over the years. Barlow and Petereit are among the most accomplished Rebelle Rally veterans. They have competed in a combined 14 rallies with 12 podium finishes. They have been teammates for three of those rallies. Their Jeep Gladiator Mojave is the only model in the Jeep lineup to wear the Desert Rated badge. It features a reinforced frame and axles, strengthened iron steering knuckles, and an enhanced suspension with segment-exclusive FOX hydraulic jounce bumpers. “We’re honored to represent the Jeep brand once again,” said Barlow. “The rally is tougher than ever, but we don’t have to worry about capability in our Jeep Gladiator Mojave. We never hesitate to chase the toughest checkpoints and that’s a huge advantage. And this is seen repeatedly by how many Jeep SUVs are in the rally and on the podium.” Unique Rebelle Rally Challenges The event poses a challenging role for the navigator as she must navigate this eight-day rally without GPS, cell phones, or any other navigation devices. Instead, she must find their way by combining elements of headings, hidden checkpoints, time, and distance using only a map, compass, and roadbook. There are also no personal support crews, so whatever they need on the route, they must take with them. It is particularly challenging even by Rally standards. Benna CDJR wishes both teams the best and invites you to visit our location to sample the vehicles that have the confidence of these two teams to complete in this challenging event.

MotorTrend Presents Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge, held on August 10, 2024, featured the worldwide debut of the all-new Dodge Charger Daytona, the world’s quickest and most powerful muscle car, led by the Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack.

New Dodge Charger Daytona Debuts at Roadkill Nights

The latest all-electric Dodge Charger Daytona debuted to the public at the 2024 MotorTrend Presents Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge during the world-famous Woodward Dream Cruise. The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona features two models: the Scat Pack with 670 horsepower and the R/T with 496 horsepower. The Daytona Scat Pack can rip the pavement into submission on its way to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds. The History of the Woodward Dream Cruise With its roots dating back to 1848, the Woodward Dream Cruise has always occurred on the legendary Woodward Avenue that spans from Ferndale to Pontiac, Michigan. Even though there weren’t cars back in the mid-1800s, there were buggies and carriages that people used to race along the wide streets, which saw even more widespread racing action starting in 1958. These days, old and new Dodge cars and trucks street race for money and bragging rights. A Special EV Exhaust System As the next generation of the Charger, the Scat Pack and R/T will have a unique and proprietary Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system that will give the Charger EV a glorious and unmistakable sound that can make anyone worried about a muscle car with an electric motor sold on the way of the future. Engine Options This is obviously the first time the Dodge Charger has ever been electrified. However, multiple engines will power the new car, including the 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-6 Hurricane High Output engine called the Sixpack H.O., which will develop 550 horsepower, or a Standard Output (S.O.) version of the Hurricane, which will produce 420 horsepower. All models will be built in the Windsor, Ontario, assembly plant. Special Driving Modes Scat Pack models will receive various modes, allowing owners to customize their driving experience on the fly. A Drift mode will enable drivers to change between three different slip angles: a Donut mode, Line Lock, Launch Control, and Race Prep. Race Prep is meant for drag or track racing and pre-warms the battery to give optimal performance for a period of time. Owners will also be able to use Performance Pages to access information with lap timers, g-meters, various gauges, and power information.
