Ram Announces Major EV Van Fleet Sale to Merchants Fleet

Though the first Ram ProMaster EV has some time to go before becoming a part of the Benna CJDR inventory, Stellanis has announced a major fleet sale for the model to the Merchants Fleet fleet management company. Merchants Fleet has agreed to purchase 12,500 Ram ProMaster EVs over the next several years. The announcement comes on the heels of Amazon being the first commercial customer for the new Ram ProMaster EV, with plans to add thousands of Ram ProMaster EVs to their fleet each year. The Ram ProMaster EV will debut later this year as the first electric van from the Ram brand. Details have not been announced though it is expected to be very similar to the E-Ducato van by Stellantis-owned Fiat that is already for sale in Europe. That vehicle offers a choice of a 47.0 kWh (kilowatt-hour) battery pack or an optional 79.0 kWh pack. “At Ram, we are laser-focused on offering our customers electrified solutions with disruptive, leading-edge, advanced technology that meets real-world demands, and we are thrilled Merchants Fleet recognizes our all-new ProMaster EV will do exactly that,” said Mike Koval Jr., Ram brand CEO – Stellantis. “Our all-new ProMaster EV is Ram’s first EV offering in North America and an integral step in our electrification journey that will offer more efficient options to all of our customers.” Merchants Fleet is the fastest-growing fleet management company in North America. This announcement underscores the company’s leadership position in offering EV vehicles to its customers. The additional inventory from Stellantis will allow Merchants to provide fleet managers with an extensive selection of short- and long-term EV leasing options, allowing the customers flexibility in incorporating EVs into their own fleets. "We take great pride in our partnership with Stellantis, which plays a crucial role in our strategy to create an innovative EV ecosystem for our clients," said Brad Burgess, senior VP of fleet sales and strategic solutions at Merchants Fleet. " This collaboration allows us to provide our clients with exclusive access to EVs and a level of flexibility they simply can't get anywhere else." Starting with the recently introduced RAM 1500 REV, Ram will offer electrified solutions in the majority of its segments by 2025 and in all of its segments no later than 2030. Ram ProMaster EV is the first of 26 planned new electric commercial-vehicle launches that will contribute to reaching a 40% zero-emission mix by the end of the decade. The Ram ProMaster EV is expected to be a 2024 model and will be available in dealerships next year. Keep checking this blog for more details as they become available, and let us know if you would be interested in adding the ProMaster EV to your fleet.

Ram 1500 EV Concept

Thinking of Everything to Build a Truck Unlike Anything

Looking to raise the standard in the electric pickup market is the concept of the 2024 Ram EV Pickup. What is an EV vehicle? An EV or an Electric Vehicle is a car that is powered by an electric motor and a rechargeable battery rather than a traditional gasoline or diesel engine. It produces no emissions and is environmentally friendly. Ram has always been ahead of the curve, building some of the most iconic trucks. We are excited here at Benna Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM to be announcing some of the incredible technological advances that have put this new vehicle at the top of the EV pickup list. Dreaming Big and Pushing Boundaries With all the competition out there, Ram is gearing to surpass the competition in range, towing, payload, charge time, and innovative technology that is about to change the game. RAM's EV pickup concept is set to debut in 2024 and boasts impressive specs and features that set it apart from other EV pickups on the market. Ram's “Shadow mode” is a remarkable new feature that uses sensors and cameras to follow drivers as they walk ahead of the vehicle at a safe distance, avoiding obstacles along the way. Also, there will be a new charger with smart technology that allows this charger to detect when the vehicle is near. This robot can detect not only the presence of vehicles but also its charging needs. It will then automatically move into position and align itself under the vehicle. More Amazing Benefits One of the biggest concerns for EV drivers is range anxiety or the fear of running out of battery power while on the road. RAM's EV pickup concept addresses this concern with an impressive range of over 500 miles on a single charge. This range is thanks to the vehicle's advanced battery technology and efficient electric motor. Another feature that is unique is that it does not sacrifice power for efficiency. This vehicle boasts impressive performance with a 0-60 mph time of just over 4 seconds and a top speed of 125 mph. The vehicle's electric motor delivers instant torque for quick acceleration and responsive handling. Pickup trucks are known for their towing and payload capabilities, and RAM's EV pickup concept is no exception. This vehicle has a towing capacity of up to 11,000 pounds and a payload capacity of up to 2,000 pounds. These capabilities make the RAM EV pickup concept a versatile vehicle that can handle both work and play. The Future is Electric RAM's 2024 EV pickup concept is poised to surpass the competition in the EV pickup market thanks to its impressive range, powerful performance, robust towing and payload capacity, innovative features, sustainable materials, and competitive pricing. The design team was told to dream big and push boundaries, and after seeing the visuals of this new EV, you can see they have followed through on the design. The new Ram EV pickup is so sleek, sporty, and still has that bruty feel that Ram enthusiast love. This vehicle represents the future of pickup trucks and sets a new standard for efficiency, performance, and sustainability.

Ubitricity Lamp Post Charger in Liverpool

Liverpool, UK Adds Chargers to Lamp Posts for Curbside EV Charging

As Benna CDJR awaits the arrival of Stellantis Battery Electric Vehicles, it is clear that one of the paradoxes of EVs is that they are the least practical for a group that would probably be most open to the idea. That would be young urbanites. Driving distances are shorter in the city, and much of it involves stop-and-go driving, both of which work in EV’s favor. The younger demographic is also generally more environmentally conscious (they have to live with the consequences longer) and less established in their automotive preferences. The problem is that many of them live in apartments where they have no means of charging overnight. The city of Liverpool, UK, has plans for at least a partial solution. Adding 300 Chargers to the City The plan is to install Level 2 chargers on lampposts that line the city streets for use by cars parking curbside. A company called Ubitricity plans to install 300 such charge points around Liverpool. When added to the 150 charge points already in the city, this will give Liverpool the status of third largest public charging network in the country. London and Coventry are first and second, respectively Regarding London, they are also planning to have Ubitricity add 500 chargers to lampposts in the Westminster area of London. London has a fairly robust charging infrastructure already having had over 6000 public chargers since 2018. " This program puts down a real mark of intent to provide the necessary infrastructure to help the move away from petrol and diesel-powered cars," said Liverpool city councilor Dan Barrington. "The fact that the roll-out is being led by community requests means the points are going where the demand is needed most which means they'll be getting maximum usage." What the system has going for it is taking advantage of existing electric infrastructure. Ubitricity will be attached 5kW chargers to the lamp posts. They might not fully charge a depleted Hummer EV Pickup overnight, but they could be expected to fully charge the average EV owned by a city dweller. This is presently thought to be one of the most cost-effective and accessible EV charging infrastructure ideas that could be replicated in the U.S. Due in large part to its size, charging infrastructure in the US by Tesla, Electrify America, ChargePoint, and others has mostly focused on collective charging locations featuring DC-direct fast charging for people traveling from one part of the country to another and adding charging locations to office parking lots.  That still leaves out many apartment renters looking to charge their commuters. Would it Work in the U.S.? The idea raises several questions in terms of its viability in the U.S. City curbside parking is often in short supply, so would the chances of finding available chargers be too haphazard for city EV drivers to feel confident in their charging ability? Would there be a backlash when spaces by street lamps are reserved for EVs? Would hooligans roam the streets with cable cutters just for spite? And are apartments structured differently enough in the U.S. that promoting charging ability within apartment complex parking would be more effective?  These questions and many more are likely to be asked by city planners across the U.S. as they closely watch the Liverpool plan. In any case, such changes probably may not come to the Superior area any time soon. If you have a place to charge overnight, the EVs planned by Stellantis and coming to Benna CDJR may work for you.

2024 DODGE CHARGER ELECTRIC CONCEPT VEHICLE SIDE VIEW

Kick it Up with the 2024 Dodge Charger

While the gasoline-powered production of the 2023 Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger are coming to a close, Dodge still lusts after making high horsepower pony and muscle cars. This time, for 2024, they have shown off the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT electric concept car. We still have to learn a lot about the upcoming electric-only Charger, but what we do know should excite the masses. Dodge has said the trim levels so far will be the 340, 440, and the SRT Banshee. Banshee… don’t they always come up with the coolest names? The numbers indicate how much horsepower the car will have in kilowatts. Horsepower is said to be 455 for the 340 kW and 590 for the 440 kW trim. For reference, 100 horsepower equals 74.57kW, or 100kW equals 134 horsepower. The SRT Banshee will ride on an 800-volt, all-wheel drive platform. We aren’t sure of the power ratings yet, but I can imagine Dodge will make an immense amount of power that will make everyone giggle like schoolchildren. The concept car shown is the SRT Banshee trim level. Going Back To Their Roots While we aren’t sure how many doors the Charger will eventually have, the concept car shows off an incredibly retro style 2-door modeled very closely after the 1969 and ‘70 model years. The Charger was always a coupe, but when Dodge brought it back out in 2006 for its sixth generation, it debuted sporting four doors. Modern Solutions Dodge is patenting three different features that are on the Daytona SRT concept car. EV Dodge Charger will feature a multi-speed transmission that aids an electric vehicle in having more range and better performance when traveling at faster speeds. Dodge calls their system the eRupt, which also has a unique shifting feel, unlike any EV before it. They say it will feel more like a “normal” transmission when it shifts. A multi-speed gearbox is also used in the Porsche Taycan for similar reasons, however, without the shifting experience which Dodge says is pure Dodge. The R-Wing is a front wing/splitter that has the classic Challenger and Charger profile with aerodynamics in mind. This will aid in keeping the front of the car planted at fast speeds while also directing air in any way the engineers and designers have deemed necessary for performance. The third and final feature is potentially their most interesting: the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, which is a first on an electric vehicle. Dodge say the new EV Charger will have an exhaust sound that rivals the current gas-powered Hellcat’s supercharged 6.2-liter V8. This Isn’t The End While I am sure we are all sad to see the wonderful pony and muscle cars with monstrous V8s ride off into the sunset, there is a whole new level of excitement and enthusiasm building around the seemingly boundless ideas and performance of modern Electric Vehicles. And, the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona SRT shows us that there is a lot coming down the road ahead for the enthusiast who loves power and speed. Women in Austria 1940s

March is Women’s History Month

March is here, and that means it's time to celebrate women’s contributions throughout history with Women’s History Month. All month long, we’re celebrating women both at our dealership and around they world as we acknowledge the differences they’re made to the car industry and our personal lives. The History of Women's History Women’s History Month actually began as a single week in 1982. For the next five years, different presidents continued to pass the resolution until the entire month of March was dedicated to women. Resolutions were proposed and approved every year, setting aside one week per year dedicated just to women in America. A few years later, there was a proposal to expand to an entire month, and Women’s History Month was born. Since then, every month has set aside March as a way to celebrate women’s contributions to the United States in a variety of fields and industries. It’s only grown since then, as we learn more about what women have done behind the scenes to make such a difference. Contributions to the Automotive World and Beyond Today, women make up a big part of the car world. There’s the Rebelle Rally, a women-only competitive event that tests the skills of drivers and navigators as they make their way through a grueling desert landscape. Then there’s the National Hot Rod Association Drag Race Series, an inclusive competition that has welcomed women with open arms for decades. Many women have competed and won, proving that women deserve just as much space in the automotive world as men. Even the Stellantis Group has Women of Stellantis, a resource group created in the last few years to promote women in leadership and throughout Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and RAM. With over 3,000 current members, the group’s goal is to have 35% of women in leadership by 2030 across their global network. Here at Benna CDJR, we celebrate Women’s History Month every day through our amazing staff. Women aren’t just our peers, but they’re also our leaders as we celebrate a diverse environment welcome to everyone. From our office to our sales staff and service department, women are a welcome and valued part of our team. Visit us today to celebrate with us!

Celebrating International Women’s Day with Benna CDJR

International Women’s Day is March 8, and we’re celebrating here at Benna CDJR. From our amazing staff to the brands we work with, we’re taking this time to give accolades where they’re very well deserved. The day is set aside to celebrate achievements and look towards the future of gender parity of the women in our community and around the world. Recognizing Women’s Achievement: Past, Present, and Future The automotive world hasn’t always been associated with women, but the last several decades have proven that to be incorrect. Now more than ever, women are ruling every sector of the industry from business to manufacturing and right here at our dealership. Chrysler, Ford, Jeep, and RAM are part of the Stellantis Group, which launched Women of Stellantis in honor of last year’s IWD. It’s a resource group meant to improve representation and foster inclusion in every sector of the industry by promoting women in leadership and increasing employment around the world. By increasing awareness and embracing women’s contributions, Stellantis is opening the door to invite women into the automotive world. The group sets realistic goals with concrete plans to achieve them, like having 35% of women in leadership roles by 2030. They’d already achieved 24% by 2020, a vast increase from previous years. When you visit us at Benna CDJR, you’ll see how important women are to how our dealership is run, including our office, service center, and everything in between. Since one of IWD’s missions is to build workplaces where women thrive, we as a team work hard to build an environment that’s inclusive. As Gloria Steinem stated, equality is a collective effort, achievable only by working together as a team. So this year, we plan not only to celebrate the history of women’s achievements, but also build a future where success is more possible and within reach than ever before. When you visit us at Benna CDJR, you’ll see for yourself how women are part of the backbone of our dealership. Whether you visit our sales team to browse our new vehicles or bring your car, truck, or SUV in for service, we welcome you to join us in celebrating women on International Women’s Day – and every other day!

Ram 1500 Revolution EV pickup concept includes 3rd row

Ram’s ancestral brand Dodge, pioneered the extended Club Cab and 4-door Crew Cabs for the modern pickup. These are Ideas were so popular that almost every Ram 1500 in our Benna CDJR inventory now has 4-doors. Ram is continuing that tradition by floating the idea of a third row of seats in their Ram 1500 Revolution EV pickup concept. Anticipating this production idea into actuality. Such a possibility is a direct result of the greater flexibility that comes with electric vehicles. Beginning with the fact that electric motors are a fraction of the size of equivalently-powered gas engines. Batteries can be flat, and positioned under the floor freeing the need to find space for a fuel tank. Add the elimination of a transmission and drive shaft, and you have significantly increased space to work with than a gas-powered vehicle with the same purpose. From the frame up, designers viewed the Revolution as a "clean sheet of paper," said Ryan Nagode, chief designer of Ram truck/commercial interior studios, who states that their goal was making the pickup truck more user-friendly and versatile. The 3rd row consists of jump seats, which can be folded out for use or retracted for extra cabin space. To make room, the Ram 1500 Revolution cab is four inches longer then the current Ram 1500 and is pushed forward into the smaller front section that no longer houses an engine. "We really wanted to make sure that cabin space was as optimized as it possibly could," Nagode told Automotive News. "When you move some of that stuff forward, we knew we wanted to maintain a decent-size bed. Those inches that you were gaining were going right into the cabin, and the idea was just to flex this space." Additional innovation includes a vertically-split tailgate hinged on each side, which when combined with an extendable bed floor with flip up panels at the end, significantly increases the length of the cargo bed. For even more cargo space, the “midgate” between the cabin and bed can retract the rear window and fold forward to be flat with the cargo bed. With this added combined enhancement of the extended bed, the 1500 Revolution can haul objects as long as 18 feet. Inside the cabin, both seats and the console can be repositioned by a rail attachment system in the floor the designers named “Ram Track”. This rail system actually extends to the “frunk”, which is the lockable cargo space where the engine normally would be. Of course the Ram 1500 Revolution innovations go beyond passenger and cargo configurations. There are extensive technology innovation additions as well,  such as portable touchscreens, biometric recognition, head up display (HUD) replacing the gauge cluster, and illuminating interior lighting, to name a few. Also envisioned as being equipped with Level 3+ autonomous driving capability. The Ram 1500 Revolution concept is just that; a concept, at this time. Some of these ideas will make their way into production, while others due to durability, long-term reliability, cost and other practical considerations, will remain as ideas to be worked on. But it does show the kind of thinking that goes into every Ram model Benna CDJR of Superior, Wisconsin current carry. We, at Benna CDJR, have some innovative thinking of our own as featured by our amazing 20 year/ 200,000 Limited Warranty on every new model. This Year's Trends in Automotive

What to Expect From the Auto Industry in 2023? A new year is here, and times are changing. That includes the auto industry. As with anything, the auto industry is moving forward into the future, and if you are interested in buying a vehicle this year or are just curious about the latest trends in the industry, we’ll share with you some details to be aware of. more Expect More Electric Vehicles This isn’t a trend that is unique to 2023, but you can expect it to continue this year and beyond. The future of the automotive is electric, and this will become even more evident over the next few years. Now, this doesn’t mean that gasoline-powered vehicles won’t be available. It doesn’t even mean that we will suddenly see half the cars on the road being completely battery-electric. Some may be, but automakers are also investing in hybrid models that offer you a nice balance of gasoline power and electric efficiency. Popularity of Used Car Buying The COVID-19 shook up the auto market in many ways, and one such way is the increased demand for used cars. These days, many drivers may feel they don’t need a brand-new vehicle, opting for pre-owned options instead. Even though they may not be fresh from the factory, many still contain key technologies that drivers are seeking in 2023. Here at Benna CDJR, we are prepared to meet that demand. If you’re looking for a used vehicle, check out our extensive inventory online before contacting us for a test drive. We are happy to help. Online Vehicle Buying Solutions In the same way you are reading about car buying trends here on our website, the ability for buyers to research and complete steps in the purchase process through online channels is expected to increase in 2023 as well. As with electric mobility, things have been trending in this direction for a while, and you can expect online solutions to advance even further this year. We have been ahead of the game for some time here at Benna CDJR. Not only can you explore our inventory online, but you can also apply for financing right from our website (among other capabilities). Rare Dodge Convertible Pickup Heads to Auction

Did Dodge Actually Make a Convertible Pickup Truck? The Dodge Dakota may have ceased production in 2011, but if you’ve been driving pickup trucks for a while, you are no doubt familiar with the nameplate. For over two decades, it was one of the top truck options in the U.S., even being named the North American Truck of the Year in 2000. more We aren’t here to talk about accoladed, though. We’re here to talk about a somewhat rare convertible version of the Dakota. Did Dodge actually make such a truck? Yes, they did, and one was recently featured at the Mecum auction in Las Vegas. As reported by MotorTrend, the model is a 1990 Dodge Dakota Sport convertible. Only 909 convertible Dakota models were produced that year, and as you can see from the picture on MotorTrend’s website, this one is in terrific condition. Interesting Facts About Dodge’s Convertible Dakota Pickup The Dodge Dakota first appeared in convertible form for the 1989 model year. After all, it was the ‘80s, and they had to go out with a bang. The drop-top was only available on the Dakota Sport model, which also featured sport-styled alloy wheels, vinyl seat inserts, a cassette player, air conditioning, Sport decals, a V6 engine, and of course, a vinyl convertible roof. As fun as it must have been to drive this truck, the convertible variant only lasted through the 1991 model year. With only three years in production, it’s no wonder why the Dakota Sport convertible is considered a rare piece worthy to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. If that isn’t you, that’s OK. We have plenty of modern pickup trucks available to explore here at Benna Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Superior, WI. Let us know when you find one you like so we can set you up with a test drive. Our Commitment During Shortages and Delays

A lot has changed in the last few years. While many parts of our lives have returned to normal, some things remain constant for the auto industry: shortages and delays. If you’ve been on the market for a new vehicle or need certain parts or repairs, you’ve probably noticed a massive shortage and increased wait times for service. At Benna CDJR, we understand how  frustrating it can be to wait. In fact, we’ve been waiting, too! That’s why we’re here for you during these difficult times to make things just a little bit easier in any way we can. Working Together Why exactly is the auto industry still so affected by shortages and delays? The answer is more complicated than it might seem. Although things might be returning to normal around the world, there’s a lot of production to catch up on. Supplies need to be shipped and parts must be manufactured. However, shipping delays are also affecting timelines as companies struggle to find enough workers. Almost every industry is running short on drivers, warehouse employees, and logistics as they try to catch up.  All of that translates to vehicle production. Manufacturers wait on their parts, work with fewer employees, and deal with delays in shipments as dealerships wait patiently for new vehicles to arrive. The Benna CDJR Promise As we all work with circumstances beyond our control, there is one thing we can guarantee, and that’s our commitment to our customers. Since there’s only so much we can do, the entire Benna CDJR team is dedicated to going above and beyond to show you, our customers, just how much we value you. While you wait on parts or in-transit vehicles, we promise to keep you in the loop as much as possible with updates as soon as we receive them. We’re here to help you in any way possible. While you wait, please feel free to browse our research information to find your next new vehicle. Take a look at what we already have here in Superior, WI, including our inventory of pre-owned vehicles. We can also help you get ahead by placing a factory order or securing financing to reduce any waits. Our team is in this together with you, so contact us today to let us know what we can do to best serve you!
