2024 Easter Jeep Safari Concept Vehicles

Easter Jeep Safari Wrap-Up

Every year in the spring, around Easter, Jeep and their loyal fans head to Moab, Utah, to begin the festivities of the Easter Jeep Safari. In 2024, it was the 58th time that Jeep enthusiasts and Jeep employees got together. Designers create their dream vision of various Jeep products to show off and get some input and inspiration from the fans on future accessories and styling features they like. This year, four unique concepts were used to show off the extraordinary creativity of the Jeep designers. Jeep Vacationeer Concept This vehicle's wild and custom Spearminted exterior color helps it stand out in any crowd. Custom flared wheel extensions help show off the 35-inch BFGoodrich mud-terrain tires mounted around 18-inch 701 Method racing wheels. Thanks to the wheels and tires, the Vactioneer gets a 1.5-inch lift and unique front and rear skid plates to protect everything underneath. A Warn winch mounted to the front can help give anyone a tow, including yourself, and three 11-inch TYRI LED lights sit on the roof to provide extra light in those nighttime off-roading situations. The 3.0-liter twin-turbo Hurricane inline-6 helps the Vactioneer Concept get moving with its 510 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. The second and third-row seats have been taken out in order to add a section on the roof for climbing into the tent. On top of the roof is a carbon fiber RedTail Overland Skyloft with climate control, enough space for two people, and panoramic viewing ability. Designer and Wagoneer enthusiast, Kiel James Patrick, tackled the front seats and gave them a special design that features classic Jeep vehicles within the pattern. “For over three decades, the Jeep Wagoneer has been more than just a vehicle to me; it has literally been part of the fabric of my life threaded through my most cherished journeys,” said Patrick. “As a designer and lifelong Jeep 4x4 owner, this was a dream project. I could not be more excited to honor the heritage and stories of the Jeep brand.” Jeep Wrangler Low-Down Concept To honor the Wrangler Lower 40 that debuted at the 43rd Safari, this year saw the creation of the Jeep Wrangler Low Down Concept. Where the Lower 40 featured 40-inch wheels, this concept sees 42-inch BFGoodrich Krawler 42x14.5R20 mud-terrain tires with 20-inch beadlock wheels and carbon fiber fender flares. Underneath, keeps the stock Rubicon 392 suspension since it’s already plenty capable. However, Dana 60 axles and 5.38 gears take over for the standard Dana 44 axles with 4.10 gears. The paint is Poison Apple Red, and the hood features a custom carbon fiber with a see-through power dome to show off the glorious 392. Inside, you will find black leather with cloth insert seats, Rhino-lined floors, and a radio-delete panel. Jeep Gladiator Rubicon High Top Concept The custom Ginger Snap metallic exterior paint is the first thing that stands out on the High Top Concept, as it looks like an ‘80s rock crawler. It rides on 40x13/5R18 BFGoodrich all-terrain T/A KO3 tires with 18-inch Satin Black KMC Grenade Crawl beadlock wheels. Much like the Low Down Concept, the High Top features Dana 60 axles with 5.38 gears. However, all to its own is the AccuAir adjustable air suspension that helps make tackling the Moab seem like child’s play. Under the hood is the venerable 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with an 8-speed automatic transmission. A tweaked American Expedition Vehicles front bumper with a Warn winch makes this Gladiator even more capable than it already was. A DECKED truck bed storage system gives the truck bed lockable sliding drawers. Inside, you will find retrimmed seats with custom quilting with perforated tan and black Alea leather with embossed JPP logos. JPP are the design and engineering teams from Mopar. Willys Dispatcher Concept The Willys Dispatcher Concept is a little bit of old meets new. First and foremost, the Willys Dispatcher is powered by the 2.0-liter plug-in hybrid 4xe powertrain with 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The Willys features an Element 115 Green paint job. Dana 50 Advantech front and rear axles and 4.70 gears give power to the Super Traxion 36-inch tires with 16-inch steelie-style wheels. On the hood is “WILLYS” embossed on either side, and an 8274 Warn winch is attached to a custom classic-style front bumper with a Warn Epic Series winch hook and D rings. To round things out, the interior is retrimmed in distressed saddle leather and houndstooth cloth inserts, and the headrests have been removed for an old-school vibe. An air compressor comes with the Dispatcher Concept to help control tired pressures. At Benna Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we offer our customers some of the best prices and services. 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Front Side View

Chrysler Pacifica Named Best Minivan for Families by U.S. News & World Report

The 2024 Chrysler Pacifica is a minivan that is more than a people carrier. It is a safe, attractive, all-weather, and all-purpose vehicle that helps up to 8 passengers ride easily and comfortably. When Chrysler developed the minivan concept in the 1980s with the Dodge Caravan and Plymouth Voyager, they never stopped reinventing the segment, which is what makes the Pacifica so beloved by journalists and customers. Who Is U.S. News & World Report? U.S. News & World Report is one of the leading publications that ranks everything from the best colleges in America, the best universities around the globe, to the best hospitals, states, cars, and much more. They have been a trusted source since 1948. Every year, they give out their best of awards, and this year, they chose the Chrysler Pacifica as the Best Minivan for their 2024 Best Cars for Families Awards. A Word From U.S. News “The 2024 Best Cars for Families winners offer a number of safety features and a comfortable ride for all passengers, making them ideal for daily commutes or family adventures,” said Liz Opsitnik, Executive Editor, U.S. News. In order to decide the 2024 Best Cars for Families award, U.S. News & World Report looks at their Best Car Rankings, which uses safety data, quality, estimated reliability, passenger and cargo space, plus the overall consensus of automotive journalists. Engine & Mileage The Pacifica is available as either a gas-only or hybrid vehicle. The gas model features a 3.6-liter V6 that produces 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. The Pacifica plug-in hybrid has the same 3.6-liter V6 but with 260 horsepower and two electric motors producing 84 horsepower and 114 horsepower. With 520 miles of range, the Pacific hybrid is fast becoming the segment’s favorite minivan. In pure electric mode, the vehicle can go 32 miles before the gas motor kicks in. The Pacifica is also available with all-wheel drive. According to the EPA, the front-wheel drive Pacifica models can get 19 mpg in the city and 28 on the highway. When AWD is equipped, that mileage drops slightly to 15 and 25. However, opting for the plug-in hybrid allows for 82 MPGe and 30 mpg combined between city and highway. For mothers and fathers who need to keep an eye on their children in the backseat, the Pacifica features a FamCam interior camera that gives a view of children in rear-facing child seats. With Stow ‘n Go seating, the Pacifica is never hurting for available space, and the seats won’t get in the way when stowed. Behind the third row of seats, you will find 32.3 cu.ft. of cargo space. Folding the third row opens that up to 87.5 cu.ft., and folding the second row of seats gives owners 140.5 cu.ft. of cargo capacity. The Insurance Institute of Highway Safety has given the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica their coveted Top Safety Pick award. This means that the Pacifica is not only one of the best offerings for families, according to U.S. News & World Report, but is verified as one of the safest family vehicles on the market by the IIHS. At Benna Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we offer our customers some of the best prices and services. With dozens of new and used vehicles to choose from, our excellent sales team and finance department will work hard to make sure you drive away happy. And our fantastic service department will take care of your new-to-you vehicle as if it were their own.

2024 RAM 1500 Towing Capabilities

Autoblog Declares Ram 1500 the Class Leader

If you are looking for the critic’s choice in full-size pickup trucks, you will find it here at Benna Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. It was the 2021 MotorTrend “Truck of the Year.” Interestingly, it was awarded “Luxury Car of the Year” by Cars.com and has been named Car and Driver’s “10 Best” for the last five years. Now Autoblog has weighed in, calling the 2024 Ram 1500 a “ Class Leader” and “ a step ahead of the rest.” Smooth Operator In its Ram 1500 review, Autoblog wasted no time before praising Ram’s coil spring suspension, stating it “ dramatically improved the handling, trailering control and most obviously, the ride quality. It rides much smoother than rivals, especially when the bed is unloaded.” They return to the suspension later in the article, stating: “The Ram 1500 continues to be so refined that it can feel like you're driving a large crossover rather than a pickup. Thanks to its five-link coil spring rear suspension, its ride quality is buttery smooth and betters all its competitors.” Looks Good, Works Great They also took time to praise the interior. While they describe the flagship Longhorn as “downright luxurious,” they were equally impressed with the layout of the bare-bones Tradesman model. They implied the interiors continue to better the competition as you move up the model hierarchy: “For instance, the rich gray cloth upholstery in a Big Horn test truck contributed to a far more premium environment than what we found in a comparable Ford F-150 XLT trim level.” Beyond aesthetics, they give kudos to the easily configurable front center console and its clever storage solutions. The same praise goes to the practical usability of the available RamBox bins that provide storage within the bed walls. Practical usability also describes the well-thought-out Uconnect touchscreen as “ one of the most user-friendly interfaces on the market and includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.” This statement applies to the Tradesman’s 5-inch touchscreen, the 8.4-inch screen, or the 12-inch vertical screen on top-level models. The Crew Cab gained attention for its generous 45.2 inches of rear legroom, which is “about 2 inches better than the Silverado Crew Cab and F-150 SuperCrew, and 3.6 inches better than the Toyota Tundra Crew Max.” Such room allows the rear seatbacks to recline for improved rear seat comfort, a feature you can’t find on Ford and GM models. Smart and Powerful The standard 3.6-liter V6 is considered more than adequate and features eTorque, a mild 48-volt hybrid system that adds electrical assistance in acceleration while refining the start/stop system operation. The V-6 produces 305 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque while providing 35 mpg on the highway. The optional 5.7-liter V8 also benefits from the eTorque system, producing 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. Highway mpg is 23 or 22 with 4WD. Still available for this year is the 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 on the Ram TRX with an astounding 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. Autoblog summarizes their review like this: “Despite being challenged by newer rivals, the 2024 Ram 1500 remains our favorite in the class. Its sophisticated ride and classy interior give it a leg-up over the Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, and Toyota Tundra. If you are even remotely considering a new pickup truck, you simply have to visit our Benna store and review the award-winning Ram 1500 for yourself.

The Chrysler Halcyon Concept exemplifies a fully electrified fut

Chrysler Will Unveil Innovative Electric Concept Car

A significant part of the automotive future is the electric vehicle, and with more automakers producing EVs and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, the technology is advancing quickly, and customers are benefiting from all the new choices. Chrysler has wasted no time in creating a concept that is exciting to everyone with its unique styling, excellent features, and the promise of advanced technology. Welcome the Chrysler Halcyon Concept. All-Electric Future Chrysler will be bringing their first electric vehicle to market in 2025, with an all-electric brand of cars coming in 2028. The Halcyon Concept uses the brand’s STLA Large platform, which incorporates both 400-volt and 800-volt electric architecture and will have a range of 500 miles. The Concept has an interior that is made up of 95% sustainable materials with Chrysler logos made from crushed and recycled CDs. Interesting Features One interesting feature that the Halcyon borrows from the Dodge and Chrysler minivans is the future of Stow ‘n Go, allowing the rear seats to fold into the trunk area for maximum cargo capacity. It was a genius idea for the minivan world, and it can only be even more brilliant for an EV that already has more space than an internal combustion engine car. A Word From Chrysler “The Chrysler Halcyon Concept creates a level of serenity that fully represents the Halcyon name. The Halcyon showcases innovative and sustainable mobility solutions that embrace technology and offer value to customers while delivering Harmony in Motion,” said Chris Feuell, Chrysler Brand CEO – Stellantis. “The Chrysler Halcyon Concept brings to life a fully electric tomorrow through new technology suites from Stellantis that integrate with simple and pure aerodynamic design and a seamless, connected and immersive cockpit experience.” Special Design and Interior It has a wide-open cabin that allows for lots of natural light, and it also has supreme safety with nearly 360 degrees of visibility. The interior also features a beautiful 15.6-inch center console-mounted infotainment touchscreen that can be used in either portrait or landscape orientations. The Halcyon will also have a fullscreen head-up display that will share all the relevant driving information you need. Each Halcyon Concept EV will be powered by artificial intelligence, allowing you to talk to the car and ask or request pretty much anything, whether it be news, changing the temperature, or asking for directions. With all of this technology, there will be no need for an instrument cluster. All-New Battery Tech By far, the most impressive new technology will be the use of truly visionary Lyten 800-volt lithium-sulfur EV batteries that do away with nickel, cobalt, and manganese, meaning the Halcyon Concept and other future Chrysler EVs can be as much as 60% more environmentally friendly with their carbon footprint. The Future Is Bright Even though it may be a concept car, the Halcyon is showcasing the future that Chrysler is planning for their customers, and it looks to be a very bright one indeed.

A Word From Jeep “The Jeep Wrangler is the ultimate adventure vehicle and the icon of the brand,” said Bill Peffer, Senior Vice President and Head of Jeep Brand North America. “Since Wrangler’s introduction, the Jeep brand has sold more than 5 million around the world, setting new levels of 4x4 capability with each new generation. The new 2024 Wrangler raises the bar once again, combining more capability, technology, comfort and safety features with the freedom to choose from four different powertrains, including our electrified 4xe, the best-selling PHEV in America.” Engines & Transmission Buyers can choose between the standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that produces 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that outputs 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, or the Rubicon 392 with a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 producing 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.  The well-loved 4xe plug-in hybrid is available with a battery pack accompanying the 2-liter turbo inline-4 that has a combined output of 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, as well as a range of 370 miles with up to 21 miles of pure-EV range. While the V6 can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission, all other engines use the 8-speed auto as the only available gearbox.

UConnect Wins AutoBlog Award

Autoblog Declares UConnect as Best Overall Infotainment System

Some of us can remember when using a vehicle’s connection to the outside world consisted of turning a knob that both turned on the system and controlled the volume and pushing another button that brought in a pre-set radio station. It was laugh-out-loud limiting compared to today, but it sure was easy to use. By popular demand, today’s systems are vastly more complex. In addition to radio, they can tap into several other content sources, help us safely converse on our smartphones, and either through the smartphone or on its own, help us find where we are going. Those are just the basics. Most can help you adjust settings for various systems; some may provide in-car performance data or pitch and angle information for off-roading, and the list goes on from there. It is such an essential part of the driving experience enthusiast site Autoblog decided to rate the best infotainment systems independently of the vehicles they were in, and Benna CDJR is happy to inform you that they judged the UConnect system used on all Stellantis models as the best overall system. Ease of Use is Praised While Autoblog immediately states that “Declaring one infotainment system the best over any other is an inherently subjective matter.” After test-driving countless vehicles, they feel confident in judging some systems better than others. They state that the one system all of their editors can agree is excellent is UConnect.  The system was praised for its simplicity of use, which they deem most important when having operating controls on a touchscreen while driving. An essential point to UConnect’s ease of use is the permanent bottom menu with touch control icons that take you to all major systems, such as media, navigation, smartphone interface, and others. They point out that radio station changing is straightforward, which can often be a multi-step process on some systems and, as mentioned above, used to be performed by pushing a single button. Works Well in all Applications Stellantis is also praised for making this system easily adaptable to whatever screen the vehicle offers. So it works just as well with the Ram 1500’s 12-inch vertical screen as it does the 10.1-inch horizontal display on the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Uconnect 5 is declared more attractive than UConnect 4 (found on the outgoing Dodge Charger and Challenger) but retains the same ease of use. They conclude: “UConnect is flexible, easy to operate and aesthetically pleasing. It’s high-tech, but doesn’t slap you upside the head with unnecessary features and complications, and it’s our favorite infotainment system of all.” The Uconnect system is present on all Stellantis models, so you can be assured that whichever vehicle you prefer at Benna Crysler Dodge Jeep Ram will have the award-winning UConnect system.

The Jeep® 4xe Power Box, available on the new 2024 Jeep® Wrangler 4xe, features four 120-volt outlets with 30 amps of total output, allowing the battery pack to power external devices.

Jeep Wrangler Rubicon X 4xe Is MAMA's “Favorite Off-Road Vehicle”

MAMA stands for the Midwest Automotive Media Association, and they are well aware of how the acronym reads. They even purposely describe their award winners as “favorites,” as in “Mama’s favorites.” This fall, they named seven “favorites,” each in a different category. Benna Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram is pleased to tell you that the innovative Wrangler Rubicon X 4xe is MAMA’s Favorite Off-Road Vehicle. All seven categories will be finalists for the MAMA’s Favorite Vehicle title for 2024. About MAMA The Midwest Automotive Media Association was formed 33 years ago and now comprises 273 automotive journalists and public relations professionals from across the US and Canada. As part of their job, the automotive journalists individually test drive vehicles for their respective media organizations. Once in the spring and twice in the fall, they gather to view vehicles together and compare notes. They convene at the MAMA’s Favorites Fall Fest to vote on the category winners. New Awards Previously, MAMA only issued awards for Family Vehicle of the Year and Luxury Family Vehicle of the Year. Those awards are now two out of seven award categories. The change reflects the great diversity of vehicles that cannot be contained to the definition of family or luxury vehicles. This includes performance vehicles, off-road vehicles, pickup trucks, and EVs. Candidate vehicles must be new, redesigned, or significantly changed. The seven category winners were selected from over 100 possible candidate vehicles. “With more than 100 new, redesigned, or refreshed vehicles MAMA members could drive during 2023, it was time to assess the breadth and depth of product at each event and for the year as a whole,” said Robert Duffer, MAMA President. “You could say MAMA loves all of her vehicles equally, but everyone knows there’s only one MAMA’s Favorite.” Wrangler 4xe: Electrifying the Trail While the MAMA jurors did not explain why they selected the Wrangler 4xe or the other category winners, we can make a strong guess. “4xe” is Jeep for plug-in hybrid. Thus, the Wrangler Rubicon X 4xe combines its 2.0-liter inline-4 with a 17.3 kWh battery and electric motor for a total system power of 375 horsepower, controlled by an 8-speed automatic transmission. MPGe is rated at 49, and you have 22 miles of EV battery use after a full charge, which you can do overnight from a regular household socket. Jeep is installing solar-powered charge stations at the trail heads of key off-roading trails in the US so you can fully charge your 4xe before silently forging the trail. When the EV miles expire, you simply drive the 4xe as a standard gas-powered engine; no recharging is necessary. The Wrangler 4xe model line includes five grades, of which the Rubicon X is at the top, with features like front and rear locking differentials and an electronic sway bar disconnect system. Inside, you will find Nappa leather seats, an Alpine Audio system, and a native navigation system. On February 8th at the 2024 Chicago Auto Show, during a MAMA-hosted breakfast, MAMA will announce which of the seven finalists will be awarded MAMA’s Favorite Vehicle for 2024. Since these finalists are, by definition, models representing very different categories, they will be judged by what they offer to their respective categories, not against each other. But if you enjoy off-roading, you already have your MAMA’s favorite, which you can explore and test drive at Benna Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram.

IIHS Logo

Chrysler Pacifica Is An IIHS Award Winner

We all want the cars we drive to be safe, but the priority of safety rises as we add other people as passengers, and even more so when those passengers are family. Consequently, a high safety rating may resonate a bit stronger on a minivan designed for hauling families than, say, a Dodge Challenger Hellcat. Thus, Benna Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is pleased to inform you that the 2023 Chrysler Pacifica has earned a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). To earn an IIHS Top Safety Pick rating, a vehicle must have the following qualifications: Good rating – the highest possible – in the driver- and passenger-side small overlap front tests and original moderate overlap front test Acceptable or good rating in the updated side test Acceptable or good headlights standard Advanced or Superior rating for daytime vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention Pacifica was ranked “Good” in IIHS tests that simulate three of the most common types of real-world crashes: Driver-side small overlap frontal impact Passenger-side small overlap frontal impact Moderate overlap frontal impact In addition, the Pacifica’s standard Pedestrian Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) received an advanced rating in both daytime and nighttime testing. The 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid Pinnacle remains the first and only plug-in hybrid in the segment, achieving more than 80 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe), an all-electric range of more than 30 miles and a total range of more than 500 miles. Chrysler points to the Pacifica’s robust body structure, which features multiple uses of advanced high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel, along with meticulous crumple zone design, contributing to these results. “The Chrysler Pacifica is America’s most awarded minivan for seven years running, and 2023 Chrysler Pacifica stands alone among minivans with its 97 standard-equipment safety and security features and its renowned versatility,” said Chrysler Brand CEO Chris Feuell. “The total package delivers the superior level of driving confidence consumers want and deserve.” In 2020, IIHS revised its rating system to place greater emphasis on AEB and headlight functionality. Because LED provides a balanced beam of light that also minimizes glare for oncoming traffic, the 2023 Pacifica features standard LED headlamps, daytime running lamps, fog lamps, and taillamps. The minivan remains the most versatile and comfortable automotive genre for daily family activities and taking the clan on a cross-country trip. Chrysler created the minivan segment 40 years ago and continues to innovate the category with the Pacifica, adding to that versatility by being the only Minivan to offer both a hybrid drivetrain and, most notably for our area, all-wheel drive in the mix. Inquire with Benna CDJR about test driving the safe, efficient, and versatile Chrysler Pacifica.

2024 Jeep® Wrangler Rubicon X 4xe

Wrangler, Wagoneer, Promaster Van Named JD Power Winners

Residual value is a prominent term in the leasing world, but it’s also an important factor for people looking to have the lowest possible vehicle ownership costs. Vehicles that hold their value reduce the overall cost of ownership and make trading in or selling much easier later on. J.D. Power recently awarded three Stellantis vehicles with residual value awards for 2024, including the Wagoneer, Jeep Wrangler, and Ram ProMaster. The 2024 Wagoneer is predicted to hold its value the best out of the crowded large SUV field, while the Jeep Wrangler and Ram ProMaster took awards in their respective classes. U.S. Head of Sales, Jeff Kommor said, “This repeat distinction demonstrates Wagoneer is more than a trailblazer for cutting-edge innovation and style. Wagoneer consistently delivered that most fundamental requirement of a sales transaction - lasting value for the customer. And that’s something we will never lose sight of.” The Wagoneer got an update for 2024 that expanded availability of the Hurricane inline-six engine to all models. It makes 420 horsepower and 468 pound-feet of torque, giving the SUV a best-in-class 10,000-pound tow rating. Jeep gave the Wrangler a mid-cycle refresh for the 2024 model year. It gained updated exterior styling with a revised grille and new wheel designs. The best-selling plug-in hybrid 4xe powertrain is now available in less expensive entry-level trims. It also got a massively improved cabin with upgraded finishes and a larger touchscreen. In addition, Jeep installed power-adjustable seats for the first time in a Wrangler. The Ram ProMaster gained new features, including an available heated steering wheel and heated windshield, parking sensors with rear automatic braking, and more. The full-size commercial van is available in a range of configurations, including two wheelbases, two roof heights, and multiple body styles. It also offers best-in-class cargo and payload capacities. If you’re interested in the new Wagoneer, Jeep Wrangler, or Ram ProMaster, Benna Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram has you covered. We’ve got a wide selection of all the new models and would love to show you all the new tech, features, and safety equipment. We can also help custom order a model that you don’t see on our lot, and we have a range of finance and service options to help you find and maintain the vehicle of your dreams.

2025 RAM 1500 On the Road

2025 Ram 1500 and the More Powerful, More Fuel-efficient Hurricane Engine Family

It was November 2023 when the 2025 Ram 1500 was unveiled. In addition to an updated appearance and new technology, the truck line will introduce a new 3.0-liter Hurricane engine family that increases standard horsepower, and performance as well as improved fuel efficiency. Benna CDJR looks forward to this new truck’s arrival, as will anyone in the greater Superior area interested in a more powerful truck. The Inline-Six Returns Find a car guy with gray hair, and he’ll tell you about the iconic, bullet-proof “slant-six” in 60s and 70s Dodge and Plymouth models. The two 3.0-liter Hurricane engines joining the current 3.6-liter V6 in the RAM 1500 family marks the return of the Mopar inline-6, though now in a more sophisticated and turbocharged form. The switch to an inline configuration brings about several advantages. V-6s are popular because they are short, making them easy to package, particularly when mounted transversely for front-wheel drive models.  But length is not an issue when mounted in a North-South position in a full-size pickup, and the inline-6 configuration enables several advantages. Among these is lower vibration through inherently better engine balancing. An inline-6’s pistons move in tandem with their mirror image on the opposite end of the block, So when pistons 1 and 6 are at top-dead-center, 2 and 5 are spaced at 120 degrees and 3 and 4 at 240 degrees. Each piston pair are two strokes apart (combustion matched by intake and compression matched by exhaust), which means an entirely even firing order resulting in an inherently smooth operation. This eliminates the need for balance shafts or extensive counterweighting that can sap power. There is also a single head instead of two and just two overhead camshafts instead of four. There is also greater room around the engine, making it easier to work on. The all-new 3.0-liter Hurricane engine is rated at 420 horsepower and 469 lb.-ft. of torque. A High Output version will produce 540 horsepower and 521 lb.-ft. of torque. All engines will be combined with a TorqueFlight 8-speed automatic transmission. 3.21, 3.55, or 3.92 axle ratios will allow customers to prioritize fuel economy and vehicle capability according to their needs. Maximum towing capacity is estimated at 11,580 pounds, with a maximum payload at 2,300 pounds. The Ram 1500 will continue with the double-wishbone front suspension and five-link solid rear axle that has brought it accolades across the industry. A class-exclusive, active-level, four-corner air suspension will be available. The system will be adjustable with five different modes: entry/exit, aero, normal, off-road 1, and off-road 2. “The new 2025 Ram 1500 brings our customers more: more power, more performance, and more fuel efficiency with our all-new 3.0-liter Hurricane engines,” said Tim Kuniskis, Ram brand CEO – Stellantis. “ With a choice of new and proven gas engines or our upcoming electric truck offerings, Ram is built to serve truck buyers everywhere. Our new powertrain offerings add to the unique combination of bold styling, leading-edge innovation, and technology, durability and capability Ram customers have come to know and love.” A Design Befitting Its Sophistication and Capability The styling is sleeker and more aerodynamic, while still presenting Ram’s bold, heroic presence with a new forward-leaning grille that will have eight different variations depending on the trim level. New premium LED headlamps, with twin bi-functional projector headlamps, are found on Limited and above trims and are matched by new LED tail lights with a jeweled appearance that is standard across the lineup. The 2025 Ram 1500 will be available in Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Rebel, Limited Longhorn, Limited, and the all-new Tungsten trim levels. Features among the trim levels include: Tradesman will come standard with a 12-inch Uconnect screen Bighorn/Lone Star features a new Gridiron paint with laser etching decorative trim accents on the dashboard, doors, and console and a new Gear Embossed seat insert accent material in Diesel Gray or black Laramie features new Chevron film decorative trim accents and introduces a new optional Bison Brown/Sea Salt Gray two-tone interior in addition to the standard black interior Rebel features a new red/black ombre mesh insert material on the standard cloth/vinyl seats Limited Longhorn features the new Barn Wood 45 open pore real wood veneer with an improved saw cut effect. Longhorn is exclusively available with the all-new Bison Brown monochromatic interior and massaging front seats Limited features new Black Ebony open pore real wood veneer decorative trim accents. A new optional black/ebony red interior color package with massaging front seats will be available. Range-topping Tungsten model will feature real metal and leather interior trim, a 14.5-inch Unconnect display, and a segment-first 12.3.-inch front passenger display. Its standard 1,228-watt 23-speaker Klipsch Reference Premiere audio system is the most powerful truck audio system in the industry. Other new tech features include a 12.3 gauge cluster, dual wireless phone charging, a digital rearview mirror with tow-mode, a full-color 10-inch Head-Up Display, and a new Hands-Free driving assist system, just to name a few. Coming This Spring Already considered the best-in-class light-duty pickup truck by several sources, including J.D. Power, the 2025 Ram 1500 model line will up the game even further. The first 2025 RAM 1500 models can be expected to fill the Benna CDJR inventory in the first quarter of 2024. The High Output Hurricane engine is expected in the third quarter of 2025. If this sounds like a truck for you, be sure to have one of our sales professionals when the first models arrive.
