Women in Austria 1940s

March is Women’s History Month

March is here, and that means it's time to celebrate women’s contributions throughout history with Women’s History Month. All month long, we’re celebrating women both at our dealership and around they world as we acknowledge the differences they’re made to the car industry and our personal lives. The History of Women's History Women’s History Month actually began as a single week in 1982. For the next five years, different presidents continued to pass the resolution until the entire month of March was dedicated to women. Resolutions were proposed and approved every year, setting aside one week per year dedicated just to women in America. A few years later, there was a proposal to expand to an entire month, and Women’s History Month was born. Since then, every month has set aside March as a way to celebrate women’s contributions to the United States in a variety of fields and industries. It’s only grown since then, as we learn more about what women have done behind the scenes to make such a difference. Contributions to the Automotive World and Beyond Today, women make up a big part of the car world. There’s the Rebelle Rally, a women-only competitive event that tests the skills of drivers and navigators as they make their way through a grueling desert landscape. Then there’s the National Hot Rod Association Drag Race Series, an inclusive competition that has welcomed women with open arms for decades. Many women have competed and won, proving that women deserve just as much space in the automotive world as men. Even the Stellantis Group has Women of Stellantis, a resource group created in the last few years to promote women in leadership and throughout Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and RAM. With over 3,000 current members, the group’s goal is to have 35% of women in leadership by 2030 across their global network. Here at Benna CDJR, we celebrate Women’s History Month every day through our amazing staff. Women aren’t just our peers, but they’re also our leaders as we celebrate a diverse environment welcome to everyone. From our office to our sales staff and service department, women are a welcome and valued part of our team. Visit us today to celebrate with us!

Celebrating International Women’s Day with Benna CDJR

International Women’s Day is March 8, and we’re celebrating here at Benna CDJR. From our amazing staff to the brands we work with, we’re taking this time to give accolades where they’re very well deserved. The day is set aside to celebrate achievements and look towards the future of gender parity of the women in our community and around the world. Recognizing Women’s Achievement: Past, Present, and Future The automotive world hasn’t always been associated with women, but the last several decades have proven that to be incorrect. Now more than ever, women are ruling every sector of the industry from business to manufacturing and right here at our dealership. Chrysler, Ford, Jeep, and RAM are part of the Stellantis Group, which launched Women of Stellantis in honor of last year’s IWD. It’s a resource group meant to improve representation and foster inclusion in every sector of the industry by promoting women in leadership and increasing employment around the world. By increasing awareness and embracing women’s contributions, Stellantis is opening the door to invite women into the automotive world. The group sets realistic goals with concrete plans to achieve them, like having 35% of women in leadership roles by 2030. They’d already achieved 24% by 2020, a vast increase from previous years. When you visit us at Benna CDJR, you’ll see how important women are to how our dealership is run, including our office, service center, and everything in between. Since one of IWD’s missions is to build workplaces where women thrive, we as a team work hard to build an environment that’s inclusive. As Gloria Steinem stated, equality is a collective effort, achievable only by working together as a team. So this year, we plan not only to celebrate the history of women’s achievements, but also build a future where success is more possible and within reach than ever before. When you visit us at Benna CDJR, you’ll see for yourself how women are part of the backbone of our dealership. Whether you visit our sales team to browse our new vehicles or bring your car, truck, or SUV in for service, we welcome you to join us in celebrating women on International Women’s Day – and every other day!

Keep your Eyes on Precious Cargo with the Pacifica Fam Cam

As a driver, you are expected to keep your eyes on the road. As a parent, you are expected to keep your eyes on your kids.  This has long been a conundrum for parents while driving but the Pacifica Minivan model line found here at Benna Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Superior, Wisconsin, provides the answer. The Fam Cam is found on both the Pacifica and Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid.  You can see it as a black curved disc above the 2nd-row seats, but what is important is how you can see through it.  The Fam Cam control is found in the Vehicles menu on the dash touchscreen.  Activate it to view an onscreen image of everyone in the 2nd and 3rd-row seats.  When you tap on a seat on the digital display, you will get a closeup of that seat on the right side of the display. Better than Eyes in the Back of Your Head The Fam Cam can be useful whenever there are people in the rear of the Pacifica, but it is particularly invaluable when using rear-facing car seats.  These child seats have been proven to be the safest position for babies to ride in a car.  All child seats are required to be installed in the rear seat; most likely a 2nd-row seat for the Pacifica.  This is a result of front seating airbag placement and lack of LATCH attachments.  Normally, with a rear-facing car seat in the 2nd-row, inhibits your view of your child.  With the Fam Cam, due to camera placement, you are provided a perfect view looking directly down on them.  There are settings for daytime, nighttime, and even an infrared setting for when it's pitch dark.  No matter what time of day, you can see everything. Keep an Eye Around the Outside As Well The Fam Cam is accompanied by the 360-degree surround view camera system which allows you to see all around the Pacifica as if you were hovering above it.  That scooter leaned up against the tailgate will be in full view, or you’ll know if you just placed your front passenger next to a mud puddle.  And you will always be able to position the Pacifica perfectly within your parking spot.  With the Pacifica Pinnacle, you’ll have a full view inside and a full view outside. Experience safety and reliability of the new Chrysler Pacifica here at our Benna location in Superior on Tower Ave. Check out the Fam Cam and 360-degree surround view camera for yourself, along with additional amazing Pacifica features. Our Benna Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram inventory is sure to entice the excitement of your next journey and driving experience.  All new and Certified-Pre-Owned vehicles come with our Benna Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram exclusive 20-Year / 200,000-Mile Warranty. How Did Electric Vehicles Get Their Start?

Whether you’ve been searching for your next vehicle or just spent some time on the road, you’ve probably noticed the growing numbers of electric vehicles and charging stations. That’s because many car manufacturers like Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM have committed to electrifying the future by producing emission-free vehicles. But did you know that the EV isn’t actually a recent phenomenon? In fact, they’ve been around for nearly 200 years, and you can learn more about how they started and where they’re headed with Benna CDJR. Rocky Start to Worldwide Takeover Most people think of the Model T or other combustion engine when they think of the first car. However, in an effort to distance from horse and buggies, people of the early 1800s found ways to produce the first true electric vehicles. Of course, the technology of the time wasn’t up to par, and problems like a top speed of 14 MPH and single-use batteries were impractical. As innovation continued, there were some improvements, but all of those were trampled by the affordable cars made by Ford in the early 1900s and EVs were essentially forgotten. That is, until the gas crisis of the 1970s made people rethink the way they traveled. Drivers worldwide were looking for ways to reduce their dependence on gasoline, and engineers got to work making a modern electric car that drivers would actually want to use. It took nearly 20 years, but eventually the Toyota Prius was released to immediate worldwide success. The Prius made huge waves with the convenient hybrid model, and other automakers took notice. With the success of the Tesla and other early hybrid and electric vehicles, it was the first time in history that the EV could become a reality. Fast forward to today’s climate crisis and rising costs, and there’s more value in an electric vehicle than ever before. Electric vehicles are no longer limited to tiny cars with short range; in fact, there are options for every driver’s needs. There’s the Chrysler Pacifica hybrid that boosts milage for families looking to save on fuel, and the new Dodge Hornet, a hybrid compact SUV that’s as affordable as it is convenient. Even muscle car enthusiasts can get in on the electric revolution, with plans for electric Charger and Challenger models coming in the next few years. RAM fans can get everything they want out of a truck in a platform they recognize with a hybrid engine they’ll love. So even though it seems that things are moving fast, it’s really been nearly two centuries in the making for an all-electric world. Find Your EV at Benna CDJR Are you interested in joining the revolution? Find your next hybrid or electric vehicle at Benna CDJR! New models are arriving soon, so contact us today to learn more about an EV that’s right for you.

Ram 1500, Rugged Reliability, Car and Driver 10Best Award

Ram 1500 earns Car and Driver 10Best award again

Benna CDJR of Superior, Wisconsin, is proud to announce the Ram 1500 has won a Car and Driver 10Best award for the fifth consecutive year. Among the winning group of SUVs and trucks, Ram was the only full-size pickup to make the list. Ram offered the 2023 Ram 1500 Limited and Ram 1500 TRX for evaluation; the award applies to the entire 2023 Ram 1500 model line. Testing occurred for two weeks during which Car and Driver editors drove, measured, and evaluated more than 55 cars, trucks, SUVs, and vans. All vehicles had to have a base price at or below $110,000. To earn its 10Best award, Car and Driver states: “Each winner leads its segment and offers the refinement, practicality, and value we look for during judging. Those virtues shouldn't come at the expense of the driving experience. Satisfying performance and entertaining vehicle dynamics are a requirement for every 10Best winner, no matter its shape, size, or segment”. " For everyone looking for a full-size pickup, which is a lot of Americans, the Ram 1500 meets all your needs and exceeds expectations. Its coil-spring rear suspension provides luxury-SUV-like ride quality, making the bouncy competition feel like farm trucks," said Joey Capparella, senior editor, Car and Driver. " The Ram's interior is its most surprising and delightful attribute. The upper trim levels feature carefully selected materials—leather, metal trim, open-pore wood—and the kind of attention to detail we expect in a Mercedes-Benz S-class. Even basic versions have sound ergonomics, crisp digital displays, and buttons and knobs that are satisfying to the touch. Chrysler's luxurious Imperial brand may have died long ago, but its spirit lives on in today's Ram." Other features pointed out in their review include: Optional split tailgate Air springs for lower that Ram for loading or hooking up a trailer Lockable storage boxes in the bed walls Car and Driver isn’t alone in their assessment as J.D. Power’s most recent APEAL Study named the 2022 RAM 1500 the large light-duty pickup for the third year in a row. The APEAL Study measures the emotional bond between customers, which is determined from customer feedback about a range of vehicle attributes, from ingress and egress to driving comfort, during the first three months of ownership. We at Benna CDJR are the least surprised by these accolades. Being witness to Ram 1500’s greatness for years, stop by and test drive a Ram 1500 for your full-size pickup needs. You will not only be matched with the best truck on the market, also our unsurpassed 20-year/20,000-mile warranty, knowledgeable sales staff, and helpful Finance Department. For the fifth straight year, we congratulate Ram for their excellent product.

Ram 1500 Revolution EV pickup concept includes 3rd row

Ram’s ancestral brand Dodge, pioneered the extended Club Cab and 4-door Crew Cabs for the modern pickup. These are Ideas were so popular that almost every Ram 1500 in our Benna CDJR inventory now has 4-doors. Ram is continuing that tradition by floating the idea of a third row of seats in their Ram 1500 Revolution EV pickup concept. Anticipating this production idea into actuality. Such a possibility is a direct result of the greater flexibility that comes with electric vehicles. Beginning with the fact that electric motors are a fraction of the size of equivalently-powered gas engines. Batteries can be flat, and positioned under the floor freeing the need to find space for a fuel tank. Add the elimination of a transmission and drive shaft, and you have significantly increased space to work with than a gas-powered vehicle with the same purpose. From the frame up, designers viewed the Revolution as a "clean sheet of paper," said Ryan Nagode, chief designer of Ram truck/commercial interior studios, who states that their goal was making the pickup truck more user-friendly and versatile. The 3rd row consists of jump seats, which can be folded out for use or retracted for extra cabin space. To make room, the Ram 1500 Revolution cab is four inches longer then the current Ram 1500 and is pushed forward into the smaller front section that no longer houses an engine. "We really wanted to make sure that cabin space was as optimized as it possibly could," Nagode told Automotive News. "When you move some of that stuff forward, we knew we wanted to maintain a decent-size bed. Those inches that you were gaining were going right into the cabin, and the idea was just to flex this space." Additional innovation includes a vertically-split tailgate hinged on each side, which when combined with an extendable bed floor with flip up panels at the end, significantly increases the length of the cargo bed. For even more cargo space, the “midgate” between the cabin and bed can retract the rear window and fold forward to be flat with the cargo bed. With this added combined enhancement of the extended bed, the 1500 Revolution can haul objects as long as 18 feet. Inside the cabin, both seats and the console can be repositioned by a rail attachment system in the floor the designers named “Ram Track”. This rail system actually extends to the “frunk”, which is the lockable cargo space where the engine normally would be. Of course the Ram 1500 Revolution innovations go beyond passenger and cargo configurations. There are extensive technology innovation additions as well,  such as portable touchscreens, biometric recognition, head up display (HUD) replacing the gauge cluster, and illuminating interior lighting, to name a few. Also envisioned as being equipped with Level 3+ autonomous driving capability. The Ram 1500 Revolution concept is just that; a concept, at this time. Some of these ideas will make their way into production, while others due to durability, long-term reliability, cost and other practical considerations, will remain as ideas to be worked on. But it does show the kind of thinking that goes into every Ram model Benna CDJR of Superior, Wisconsin current carry. We, at Benna CDJR, have some innovative thinking of our own as featured by our amazing 20 year/ 200,000 Limited Warranty on every new model. When it’s time to hit those oceanside mountains, the High Tide is ready with heavy-duty steel rock rails. Even more help comes from the Selec-Trac Full-Time 4WD that’s ready for anything. Inside, there’s surprising function and comfort with all-weather floor mats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Report Reveals Exciting Ram Patent News

Will Ram Release the Rebel Off-the-Grid? Sometimes Ram likes to show off a little bit. Every automaker does, and they do this by unveiling concept models that push the limits of vehicle design, capability and technology. more A few years ago, Ram showed us the Rebel Off-the-Grid (OTG) model that was brought to the SEMA Show, and it hasn’t left our minds since then. We imagine you may be feeling the same way, so we had to ask, will Ram release the Rebel OTG to purchase? Well, we don’t know anything for sure. What we do know is that Car and Driver reported that Ram had filed a patent of a pickup that had some of the same equipment found on this SEMA concept model. It could be a coincidence or it could be a sign of something special for the future. Only time will tell. Can You Make Your Own Ram Rebel OTG With Mopar? What made the Rebel OTG model special is its use of unique Mopar parts. Does that mean you could potentially make your own Rebel OTG? Well, not quite. The parts that were used were also Mopar concept accessories. These include a front bumper with an integrated winch and a snorkel air intake, both of which are the key components of this unique concept. The concept model also had a concept rear bumper adapted from a Ram 1500 Tradesman. Until these parts make their way to consumers and you have the ability to outfit your vehicle with them on your own, we can’t say there is any easy way to make your own Rebel OTG. Still, the report we mentioned is an excellent sign that things could be in the works for a production version of this popular concept truck. If you’d like to stay updated on the latest regarding this news, be sure to check back to the Benna CDJR website blog.

This Year's Trends in Automotive

What to Expect From the Auto Industry in 2023? A new year is here, and times are changing. That includes the auto industry. As with anything, the auto industry is moving forward into the future, and if you are interested in buying a vehicle this year or are just curious about the latest trends in the industry, we’ll share with you some details to be aware of. more Expect More Electric Vehicles This isn’t a trend that is unique to 2023, but you can expect it to continue this year and beyond. The future of the automotive is electric, and this will become even more evident over the next few years. Now, this doesn’t mean that gasoline-powered vehicles won’t be available. It doesn’t even mean that we will suddenly see half the cars on the road being completely battery-electric. Some may be, but automakers are also investing in hybrid models that offer you a nice balance of gasoline power and electric efficiency. Popularity of Used Car Buying The COVID-19 shook up the auto market in many ways, and one such way is the increased demand for used cars. These days, many drivers may feel they don’t need a brand-new vehicle, opting for pre-owned options instead. Even though they may not be fresh from the factory, many still contain key technologies that drivers are seeking in 2023. Here at Benna CDJR, we are prepared to meet that demand. If you’re looking for a used vehicle, check out our extensive inventory online before contacting us for a test drive. We are happy to help. Online Vehicle Buying Solutions In the same way you are reading about car buying trends here on our website, the ability for buyers to research and complete steps in the purchase process through online channels is expected to increase in 2023 as well. These versatile vehicles with a small footprint have become hugely popular, and the Hornet is shaking up the market with an exciting exterior design and sporty turbocharged power. It’s a vehicle that should absolutely be at the top of your test drive list for compact SUVs. A Unique Luxury Option From Chrysler Meanwhile, the Chrysler buzz for 2023 is focused on luxury. Pacifica Makes History With Hybrid Model

Does Anyone Sell a Hybrid Minivan? Whoever said minivans are dead clearly didn’t know what they were talking about, or at the very least, they clearly underestimate Chrysler. SUVs are great and all, but when the Chrysler Pacifica came on the scene, it changed what the world thought of as a family hauler. more As much as the U.S. loves its SUVs, and for good reason, nothing really compares to a well-equipped minivan when it comes to family-friendly driving. And believe it or not, the minivan just got even better, as the Chrysler Pacifica became the first minivan in history to be available with both a gasoline and hybrid powertrain. 2023 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid and Gasoline Powertrain Specs The Pacifica model is great no matter which powertrain you select, so if you’d like to stick with the gasoline engine, you’ll still have a lot to look forward to. This particular model comes with a V6 engine under the hood and is capable of delivering up to 287 horsepower. If you want to go with the gasoline model, the MSRP starts at $37,020. If you want to check out America’s first and only plug-in hybrid minivan, however, you’ll be in for one unique experience. This model contains that same V6 engine while adding an electric motor to make it hybrid. The big difference comes from that electric motor, which allows the hybrid model to achieve an estimated fuel economy of 82 MPGe. In addition, the Pacifica Hybrid boasts a driving range of more than 500 miles on a single tank of gas. The starting MSRP for the hybrid model is $50,495. Whether you go with the fully gasoline-powered model or the hybrid model, you certainly can’t go wrong with the 2023 Chrysler Pacifica. To learn more about it, reach out to the auto experts here at Benna CDJR.

Benefits of At-Home Charging For Your Electric Vehicle

Why You Need to Have an At-Home Electric Charging Station If you’re in the market for an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle, there is a lot you will want to know first. These vehicles can be a great way to achieve efficient driving, and advancements in electric mobility make these models better and more affordable than they have ever been before. more One thing we stress when buying such a vehicle, however, is that you should absolutely consider having an at-home charging station. Why is this? After all, you wouldn’t need a gasoline refueling station at home for a gasoline-powered vehicle. Well, there are some good reasons when it comes to convenience. Top 3 Reasons for Having an At-Home Electric Charging Station You can charge whenever you want. Because it can take multiple hours to fully charge an electric car battery, it helps to be able to charge it up when it is most convenient to you. This means being able to charge it overnight at home is much more convenient than having to sit at a charging station waiting for the battery to charge up. It’s a personal charging station. Infrastructure for electric vehicles is improving but you may live in an area where the popularity of electric vehicles is moving faster than the building of public charging stations is. If this is the case, you may not want to find yourself waiting at a public station to fill up or driving around seeking out alternative options. At-home stations are affordable. Having to drop a sum of cash right after buying a vehicle may not sound great, but at-home charging stations have become rather affordable when you consider all the factors. Plus, this is a one-time cost that can result in a lot of convenience and is certainly better than the weekly fill-ups you would have to pay for at the gas pump. As you can see, there are many benefits to buying an at-home charging station for your electric vehicle. Here at Benna CDJR, we have auto experts that can answer all the questions you have about electric vehicle-owning best practices, so reach out for more information.
