According to Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand Chief Executive Officer - “Stellantis, it’s going to be an Electric Summer!” As a way of kicking the “ Never Lift” campaign into high gear, Dodge will be revealing three new products at their Dodge Speed Week festivities between August 15-17, 2022.  Kuniskis says that these announcements will give Dodge fans a peek into the “new performance direction” for the brand. Dodge Speed Week is a days long event added to the traditional Woodward Dream Cruise Week of events and comes just after MotorTrend Presents RoadKill Nights. RoadKill Nights shines a spotlight on the culture surrounding muscle cars with events such as legal drag racing (yes, you read that right), v ehicle displays and even professionally driven Hellcat ride alongs. Drag Racing at Roadkill Nights It was previewed that August 15th announcements will include impacts on current muscle car lineups.  August 16th will feature a gateway muscle product and August 17th will usher in the future of Dodge muscle products. While only vague information has been shared, it's safe to say that Dodge might be releasing some information on a long awaited battery-electric muscle car from the masters of muscle as well as more information on the plug-in hybrid that is expected to release in 2024. CEO Tim Kuniskis discussed an introduction of a reintroduced Hornet as the Dodge Brand’s first plug-in hybrid with AutoForecast Solutions saying that the Hornet will most likely be akin to the Alfa Romeo Tonale. There will be 1,400 new jobs in Kokomo, Indiana, the U.S., and $2.5 billion in investment money. The execution of the idea begins in 2025 with an initial production capacity of 23 gigawatts hours (GWh). They aim to increase to 33GWh in the few years following its start date, which has yet to be released. Over time the investment could increase to $3.1 billion gradually. The facility will supply battery modules for various vehicle productions. The plant for the EVs to be built starts construction before the end of this year (2022). If everything goes as planned, the projection will launch during the first quarter of 2025. In the other half of this partnership, Samsung SDI will do what it knows best. The cutting-edge technology to produce EV battery cells and modules is known as the new brand, “PRiMX.” Samsung introduced the brand at the CES 2022 convention, focusing on superior battery technology.
