Ram 1500 TRX Named Texas Truck of The Year

Texans know a lot about trucks. When their automotive media gather to put them to the test, that truck will become more than just a winner. It will become part of the family. That’s exactly how we feel about our pickup trucks here in the Twin Ports. They work and play hard. They can take us wherever we want to go any time of year. There’s no other pickup truck like the Ram 1500 TRX. That is why the Texas Motor Press Association named it their Texas Truck of The Year, as well as their High-Performance Truck of The Year. more These were among the several awards Ram and Jeep received accolades from the Texas Motor Press Association at their Texas Off-Road Invitational event. In addition to the Ram 1500 TRX, Jeep® took home a few trophies, as well. These accolades include the 2021 Jeep Gladiator as Off-road Truck of the Year, all-new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L as Full-size SUV of the Year, and 2021 Jeep Wrangler 392 as High-performance SUV of the Year. How do these awards translate up here in Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota? Aside from the Ram 1500 TRX, the Jeep Gladiator and Wrangler 392 can handle the rough stuff any time of year. With our first winter storms coming through, you need that power of a tried, tested, and true four-wheel-drive system made to tackle the snow head-on. Benefitting from Jeep’s eight-decade history of making the best four-wheel-drive systems in the world, the Grand Cherokee L was made to carry seven people in style and luxury, while handling the worst the winter will serve up. Available with three four-wheel-drive systems, the Grand Cherokee L is another chapter in Jeep’s legacy of capable vehicles that have conquered the world. If you agree with the automotive media down in Texas, contact us at Superior Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram to order your Ram 1500 TRX, Jeep Gladiator, Wrangler 392, or Grand Cherokee L today!

Kaiser Jeep SEMA Concept

Mopar Brought Cool New Concepts to SEMA

Did you miss the Speciality Equipment Market Association show in Las Vegas earlier this month? You may have heard it called SEMA. And, for the automotive industry, it’s a show worth going to! While the attendees from the automotive trade looked at the latest in parts and accessories, Mopar showed a few concepts and the latest accessories for both current and concept vehicles. They certainly pulled out all of the stops down in Las Vegas! more Cool Jeeps Jeep offered up four concepts at SEMA. The Jeep Wrangler 4xe concept showcased the icon’s off-roading side while promoting the efficiency of the plug-in hybrid driveline. This concept uses a vast array of Jeep Performance Parts, from a two-inch lift kit for the suspension to bumpers, Gorilla Glass, tube doors, Katzkin leather seats, and so forth. This is topped off with a set of BFGoodrich 37-inch tires mounted on Beadlock wheels for maximum grip on the rocks. One concept that intrigued us was the Jeep Wrangler Overlook concept. This extended length Wrangler Unlimited Sahara and adds a third row, plus additional cargo space. The rear part of the roof was raised with “safari glass” above. This concept is equipped with its own set of Jeep Performance Parts, including a two-inch lift kit and a Tailgate Reinforcement System, and an Oversized Spare Tire Carrier Modification Kit. The new Grand Cherokee L also got the SEMA treatment with its Breckenridge concept. This luxurious concept is painted with a two-tone Magnetite matte/metallic and gloss-black paint scheme with satin bronze accents. Mopar installed a set of five-spoke 21-inch alloy wheels. Mopar also adds interior accents, such as stainless-steel pedal covers with black rubber pad to make this luxurious interior pop even more. Rounding out Jeep’s SEMA offerings is the Kaiser Jeep M725 concept. This may remind you of the old Gladiator pickups from the 1960s, crossed with their military counterpart. It is powered by a Mopar 392 Crate HEMI® V-8 engine linked to a vintage TorqueFlite 727 automatic transmission. This combination delivers 485 horsepower and 475 lb.-ft. of torque. It serves as a support vehicle for off-road adventures, while capable of its own excursions into the rough country. Ram Tough! Ram brought two concepts to SEMA. The Ram 1500 TRX RexRunner wears a host of Mopar accessories and custom parts making it more aggressive than your average run-of-the-mill TRX. This concept includes custom metal skid plates that feature laser-etched Mopar lettering and protect the front and rear underside areas of the truck. The use of the front skid plate helps to increase the approach angle by 2.3 degrees up to 32.5 degrees. This is helped by a set of 37-inch Goodyear tires riding on 18-by-9-inch Black Rhino Chamber wheels. Ram also brought their 1500 Outdoorsman concept, designed for those who work and play hard. Based on a Big Horn 4X4 Crew Cab pickup truck, the Outdoorsman features a custom two-height position aluminum Mopar bed rack system runs the full width of the truck bed and safely carries items, such as ladders and plywood for work or a kayak, oars, fishing poles or a mountain bike for play. Mounted to the floor of the truck bed, a modified Expertec bed-slide system provides dual rolling panels - each rated at 2,000 pounds - for easy loading and unloading of tools, gear, and equipment. Each sliding panel carries custom T-track rails and mounts to secure items. The bed floor is protected with a durable Mopar spray-in bedliner. Dodge Boys Lastly, SEMA provided the dip. Dodge created the Challenger Holy Guacamole concept with an amazing green paint job that makes it delicious. Based on an R/T Scat Pack Widebody 50th Anniversary Edition, the concept brings back several heritage elements to this modern muscle machine. If the Shaker hood scoop doesn’t draw you in, a set of 20-inch Forgeline wheels and a Mopar coil-over suspension lowering kit will. The interior receives wood panel trim and sport green and yellow plaid upholstery on the seats and door panels. Want to make your own custom creation with your Mopar vehicle? The parts department at Superior Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram can assist you in creating your own special vehicle by facilitating ordering you Mopar parts and accessories along with Jeep Performance Parts.

Jeep Wrangler at Rebelle Rally

Jeep Takes 1-2 at Rebelle Rally

For the past six years, the Rebelle Rally offered an opportunity for adventurous women to tackle a 2,500-kilometer run over the roughest and most challenging terrain across California and Nevada. The rally is run across eight days and all participants cannot use their cell phones or GPS devices to navigate through this tough course. Many manufacturers were represented in this year’s Rebelle Rally. Only one brand took the top three positions overall, as well as five out of the top 10 positions. That would be Jeep. more In this year’s rally, the Wrangler 4xe placed first and second overall. They also took the Bone Stock and Electrified class titles. In fact, it was Team 4xEventure of Nena Barlow and Teralin Petereit and their Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe that took the overall win along with Bone Stock and Electrified awards. Coming in second is the mother and daughter team of Christine and Emily Benzie and their 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Team Jeep Thrills. Over the six-year history of the Rebelle Rally, Jeep vehicles have won five out of six overall wins. The Rebelle Rally is also about making history. Jeep was part of these efforts by teaming up with Team Asdzáá Skoden Rebelles of Shandiina Peters and Racquel Black, the first all-Navajo team to compete in the Rally. If you think about why Jeep runs the Rebelle Rally, consider its mission statement that “elevate women across the globe and at home, and to make a positive impact in our communities – from empowering girls and women to caring for our environment.” The running of the Wrangler 4xe in the rally is a prime example of helping to fulfill this mission. It is the one off-road-ready vehicle that can deliver 21 miles of all-electric range and can tackle any trail in Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota without having to recharge along the way. If you are looking for an efficient and environmentally friendly icon, contact us at Superior Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram to order your Wrangler 4xe today!

Jeep's 4xe Is Made For "Zero Emission Freedom"

The 4xe driveline is becoming a huge part of Jeep’s electrified future. This is a new reality that could make your off-roading experience a much better one. We know that there is some pushback from our customers about the idea of an electrified Jeep. We recently had some experience in an off-road course in Wisconsin to get a better idea on how the 4xe system works. more In the Wrangler and the upcoming Grand Cherokee, the 4xe system is a plug-in hybrid that signals Jeep’s mission of “Zero Emission Freedom.” The immediate benefit is not just to encourage 4xe owners to use their vehicles everywhere without possibly using a drop of gasoline, but to do so without sending exhaust gasses into the air when you are in natural habitats, such as our state and national forests and parks. 4xe Changes The Game The 4xe system offers 20-25 miles of all-electric range. These drivelines are also powerful with combined performance numbers up to 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. These are numbers that make the difference when you are up against some tough terrain due to weather and surface conditions. The 4xe uses the Quadra Trac II 4x4 system and its two-speed transfer case offering a 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio and a 47.4:1 crawl ratio. The key to this driveline is on the left of you. There are three buttons to choose from that make up the 4xe E Selec modes: Hybrid, Electric, and eSave. These modes will enable the 4xe electrification system to play a significant role in your off-road experience. Hybrid blends the torque from the gasoline engine and the electric motor, optimizing both to deliver the best combination between efficiency and performance. Putting the 4xe into Electric mode will give you a zero-emission experience using only the battery to fuel your drive. When the battery is at a minimum charge, the gasoline engine will be engaged for the rest of your drive. Perhaps the best thing about using the electric mode off-road is the lack of noise. As you drive down a trail, you can truly hear the silence around you. Or, if you are negotiating with a technical bit you can hear your spotter without the need for a radio. The eSave mode prioritizes the gasoline engine, saving the battery for later use. You can choose between Battery Save and Battery Charge in this mode through the Hybrid Electric Pages in the Uconnect screens. You can also enable Max ReGen, which gives you optimal braking recovery of energy back to the battery. That will save you from having to look for a charging station when you are miles away from the nearest one. You can use your charging pack that will be able to plug into a 110-120-volt receptacle when you need some extra battery juice on the fly. The benefit of using the 4xe system in various terrain and climate conditions is the ability to drive without using as little fuel onboard to accomplish what you need to do. You can get through technical off-road courses by using battery power alone. You can also deal with snow and ice during the tough winters we experience in the Twin Ports area without using a drop of fuel. It all comes down to your Jeep’s venerable four-wheel-drive system. This is the most important part of the equation that keeps you going wherever you are. The 4xe driveline is available on the Jeep Wrangler right now. It will be added to the all-new two-row Jeep Grand Cherokee soon. Contact us at Superior Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram to order your electrified Jeep today!

NACTOY Finalist 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer silver highway

Grand Cherokee L, Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer Named NACTOY Semifinalists

The North American Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle of the Year Awards (NACTOY) are now underway. The panel of jurors just announced the semifinalists for the 2022 awards. Among the 23 new vehicles that made the list of semifinalists for 2022, the Jeep Grand Cherokee L, along with the new Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are named for consideration for North American Utility of the Year. The North American Car, Truck and Utility awards are unique because they are not decided by a single publication. Instead, they are evaluated throughout the year by 50 respected jurors from print, online, radio, and broadcast media across the U.S. and Canada. Those jurors vote three times during the year to reduce the list of eligible vehicles down to semifinalists, finalists, and, finally, winners. more New Jeep Icons Both the Grand Cherokee L and the Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer offer their own arguments to become the 2022 North American Utility of The Year. The new generation Grand Cherokee was introduced with an all-new three-row model – a request from our customers who want more passenger and cargo capacity from a Jeep. This was accomplished on an all-new platform that is designed to combine the luxury and comfort expected in a three-row SUV with Jeep’s trademarked capabilities and a choice of four-wheel-drive systems. Flagship Jeeps The return of the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer has grabbed all of the headlines for the past year or so. From the ground up, both SUVs offer a premium experience in a large three-row SUV. 2021 Ram 3500 Longhornn towing boat at launch J.D. Power IQS winner

Ram Tops J.D. Power Initial Quality Study

The J.D. Power Initial Quality Study is one of the most important indicators on how well our vehicles hold up within the first year of ownership. Our work has paid off! It is great news to learn that the Ram and Dodge brands ranked in first and second place in this year’s Initial Quality Study. Ram has become the first truck-only brand to achieve the top spot in this important and esteemed survey. In addition, the Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty pickup trucks ranked first in its segment by J.D. Power. The Ram 1500 also scored very well in its segment. more But wait, there's more! Dodge placed second, which continues the brand’s transformation into one with unrivaled quality, as shown in last year’s Initial Quality Survey. This was bolstered by the Dodge Charger’s standing in its segment in the survey. J.D. Power surveyed new-vehicle buyers about their first three months of ownership and tracked problems per 100 vehicles (PP100) to measure the performance of 32 brands. Compared with 2020’s results, Ram’s industry-leading total improved by 13 PP100 to 128. Dodge was next with 139, five PP100 fewer than its nearest competitors. The Jeep Gladiator also led its segment in the study. In fact, the Gladiator, along with strong study showings by the Grand Cherokee, helped Jeep to achieve a score of 149. This puts them 13 PP100 better than the industry average of 162. Also, the Chrysler 300 scored very well in this survey. This gives half of Stellantis vehicles sold across all brands a place among the top three of each segment in the study. You can be rest assured that by choosing any of these great vehicles from Superior Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, you are about to drive something that offers high quality and great value beyond the initial three months of ownership. Twin Ports consumers want the highest quality of anything we buy. We offer nothing short of that. Contact us to order your next vehicle from Superior Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram today. 2021 Ram 1500 TRX Blue Desert Jumping

NEMPA Names Ram 1500 TRX Official Winter Truck

While we are in the middle of an enjoyable summer here in the Twin Ports area, we will be soon turning our attention to winter. Actually, that reminder came from the media members of the New England Motor Press Association. They announced the winners of a series of awards based on winter driving and evaluation. These winners may come as no surprise for us up here in the Twin Ports. NEMPA named the Ram 1500 TRX their Official Winter Truck of New England. The TRX was joined by the Chrysler Pacifica as best-in-class among People Movers and the Jeep Gladiator in their Mid-Size Pickup truck class. more These winners are chosen by jurors representing print, television, digital and radio media outlets from Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. While one can compare their winter conditions to ours, their authority and experience helps us to pick the right vehicles to handle everything we put it through – all year round. Why Ram and Jeep Won The Ram 1500 TRX is a great choice for this award. In fact, we should call it our Official Winter Truck of the Twin Ports. The higher ground clearance, off-road rated tires, and the power of a 702-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 are what you need to handle the worst snow days we can get. There is nothing but power and traction that gives the Ram 1500 TRX no challenge for our climate. We can say the same with the Jeep Gladiator. Jeeps are proven masters in conquering winter weather. The Gladiator adds pickup truck utility, along with proven four-wheel drive capability and ruggedness to handle snow days and snow plows. As our own favorite People Mover in the Twin Ports, the Chrysler Pacifica heralds the return of all-wheel drive to our lineup. The electronic system keeps the Pacifica on the road by ensuring that traction is available at all corners. Not to mention, you have a choice of models that range from nice to elegant to handle our winter school runs. All three of these vehicles are available at Superior Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, we will order the one you wan t – just for you!

Jeep MB Military Jeep 1941

Celebrating 80 Years of Jeep

Today, we celebrate 80 years of Jeep. We celebrate the past, present, and future of the iconic brand that is a favorite here in the Twin Ports. It all began in 1941, when the U.S. War Department – now known as the Department of Defense – finalized the contract for a reconnaissance vehicle that was small, versatile, and agile. That contract was shared with a company called Willys-Overland. They had never built a vehicle that could take on rugged terrains and battlefields before. However, their proposal to build such a vehicle was approved. more By the time victory was declared in 1945, over 350,000 Jeep MBs were produced for the war effort. Just like the many soldiers, sailors, Marines, and air corps that returned home, Willys-Overland began to convert the Jeep MB into its civilian life. From there, the rest is history... The first Willys-Overland Jeeps became rugged mountain pass warriors, farmhands, and lake cabin companions. Jeeps were expanded to become wagons for families, and pickup trucks to take goods to market. Over the years, Jeeps stuck to a formula that saw battle on global war fronts to working the mines up in the Iron Range. The modern Jeep era By 1987, Jeep became part of the MOPAR family. The formula continued with a mix of the rugged Wrangler – a direct ancestor of the Jeep MB – and the first successful family SUV, the Cherokee. Since then, Jeep became a global brand that still is rooted in its rugged past, while advancing its footprint with a lineup of great SUVs and pickup trucks. That legacy continues today as Jeep introduces a lineup of electrified SUVs called 4xe. The 2021 Wrangler 4xe is just the beginning of a movement where every Jeep will have an electrified driveline by 2025. Jeep is an icon that has spanned 80 years. Owners and enthusiasts continue to celebrate the freedom that a Jeep provides whether it is a weekend at the off-road vehicle park or a run to the grocery store. Join in the celebration of 80 years of Jeep at Superior Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. We are here to offer you your next Jeep and to service your current one.
