The 50 Best Dodge Models of All TimePart 2 (31 – 40)
This is Benna CDJR’s second look at the top 50 Dodge models of all time as collected by the enthusiast site Autoevolution. This edition looks at the 31 – 40 best-ranked models. As mentioned in the first installment of this series, Dodge isn’t going anywhere, just two of its iconic models are, so this seems to be a good time to look at some of the brand’s greatest models in its 95-year history.
40. 2007 Avenger R/T AWD

Originally a Dodge Coupe version of the 2nd-generation Mitsubishi Eclipse, the Avenger came back in 2007 as a mid-size sedan replacing the Dodge Stratos. Like the coupe, the Avenger was based on a Mitsubishi Galant platform and built in the Chrysler – Mitsubishi joint venture Diamondstar plant in Normal, IL. All Avengers sported Charger-like styling, particularly with the kick-up character line just before the rear fenders.
What puts this model on the list, however, was the R/T model’s combination of a 235 horsepower 3.5-liter V-6 and all-wheel drive, which made it stand out in the mid-size sedan class. Running the power through a 6-speed automatic transmission, and helped by AWD traction, the Avenger could transition from stop to 60 in 7.2 seconds.
39. 1940 WC-Series

Remember that fast-moving ambulance heading into the M*A*S*H camp just as the music picks up in the show’s opening credits? That was a Dodge WC. Like the Jeeps often shown on that program, the WC was built for World War II in cooperation with Fargo, another Chrysler-owned truck company. Built in ½, ¾ ton and even six-wheeled 1½ ton versions, WCs took on the bigger jobs, including cargo trucks and weapons carriers, (radio) command cars, reconnaissance vehicles, carryalls, panel vans, telephone installation, mobile emergency/field workshop trucks, and of course ambulances.
More than 350,000 WC were made through 1945, and together GPs (Jeeps) and WCs (sometimes nicknamed “Beeps”) made up nearly all the light-duty trucks used by the U.S. military during the war.
38. 1966 D/Dart Super Stock

An arguable distant spiritual ancestor to the Hellcat and the current “Last Call” models, the D.Dart Super Stock was a factory-built drag racer designed to compete on the strips against other small-block V-8s of the time. The compact-sized D/Dart’s 273 cubic inch V-8 was pumped up to produce 275 horsepower. That is more than one horsepower per cubic inch. Only 50 models were built. It is somewhat overshadowed by the Dart LO23 that was stuffed with a 425 Hemi and occasionally a 440 ci.
37. 1974 Ramcharger

Least known of the full-size 2-door SUVs, the Ramcharger came out five years after the full-size K5 Chevrolet Blazer, but three years before the full-size Ford Bronco. Like its competitors, the Ramcharger was built on a short wheelbase version of the brand’s full-size pickup. The top was removable, and there was even a cloth top available for a while. It started as a 2-seat hauler, but a second row of seats was added two years later. While the base model was powered by the venerable 225 slant-six, from there, it was all V-8s in 318, 360, 400, and 440 cubic inch sizes.
There was an identical Plymouth version of this vehicle called the Trailduster, marking one of the only times a truck was offered by that brand. There were two generations of Ramchargers spanning 20 years.
36. 2003 Neon SRT-4

The Neon SRT-4 is another example of Dodge making a hellion out of an ordinary sedan. While most 2nd-generation Neons were available with either 132 or 150 horsepower, the SRT-4 (Street and Racing Technology-4 cylinder) was a concept model developed by DaimlerChrysler’s PVO (Performance Vehicle Operations) in-house tuner group to originally produce 208 hp using a supercharged 2.0-liter.
By the time of the 2003 production model debut, it featured a 215 horsepower turbocharged 2.4-liter inline-4, which was bumped up to 230 hp the following year. The model proved more popular than Dodge expected. Originally expecting to sell just 2,500 per year, over 25,000 models were sold across three model years.
35. 1964 D-100 Street Wedge

The D-100 Street Wedge is arguably the first factory muscle truck. Based on the plain but hard-working D-100s that normally ran on the 225 slant-six or 318 V-8. This model was powered by a predecessor of the famed 426 Hemi known as the 413-cubic-inch Max Wedge V8. known as the “Ramcharger”, the first use of the name. Chrysler developed the engine specifically for drag racing among its full- and mid-size cars. Rated at 365 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, it was the most powerful truck at the time though Dodge only built 50 of them, just enough to meet NHRA requirements.
34. 2009 Challenger Drag Pak

This is yet another factory-built drag racer. The Challenger just had its return the prior year, and Dodge was heavy into nostalgia with a series of special edition models that were homages to famous Dodges of the muscle car years. The Drag Pak was the only one that wasn’t street-legal.
The lack of production use enabled Dodge to shave 1000 pounds off the car. There were three engine options, including a 5.7-liter Hemi, 6.1-liter Hemi, and a 5.9-liter Magnum Wedge. An initial run of the required 50 cars was completed to meet NHRA requirements, though over 100 Challenger Drag Pak” vehicles were eventually produced.
33. 1978 Li’l Red Express

To understand the Li’l Red Express, one must understand the late 70s. Emission requirements were detuning muscle cars out of existence. But those requirements did not apply to trucks. So Dodge started producing a line of “adult toys” in truck form. The Macho Power Wagon was a 4×4 truck with fat tires, a factory roll bar, and a wild two-tone paint job. The Warlock had a step-side bed, aftermarket wheels, gold pinstriping, bucket seats, and fat white-letter tires.
The Li’l Red Express beat them all in audacious styling. The step-side bed had oak sideboards, and roof-high semi-like exhaust pipes rose between the cab and rear fender. All models were red with a large, gold company logo-like Li’l Red Express Truck sign on the doors. The Express was powered by the 360 ci V-8 producing 225 horsepower, which seems paltry today but was more powerful than anything but the Corvette at the time.
32. 2006 Magnum SRT-8

Ironically, it was the Dodge Caravan minivan that fired the first crippling blow at the venerable station wagon body style. In the subsequent 20 years, both minivans and SUVs had pretty much sealed the wagon’s fate. But with its LX platform derived from Daimler’s Mercedes E and S-Class, Dodge figured they had just the right ingredients to revive the All-American full-size RWD wagon.
This being Dodge, it was just two years before they created a halo muscle car version with a 6.1-liter HEMI V8 engine good for 425 horsepower mated to a 5-speed automatic that also came from Mercedes. The drivetrain was good for a 0-60 time of just 5.1 seconds and hit the quarter mile in 13.1 seconds at 108 mph. Brembo brakes brought things back to a stop. All Magnums remained niche vehicles as Americans continued to flock to SUVs, and the wagon was discontinued in 2008.
31. 2007 Charger Daytona

It didn’t have a roof-high wing, but Dodge’s homage to its iconic NASCAR warrior almost 3-decades earlier was a looker. With a moderate altitude black rear wing, blacked-out rear, mostly black hood with “HEMI” cut out on each side, rear ‘70 ‘Cuda-like black stripes, and 20-inch chrome five-split-spoke wheels, this charger was not subtle. That is even before you consider the roster of Dodge’s famous amusingly named colors, such as Sub Lime Green, Plumb Crazy Purple, and Top Banana, plus a few new ones, such as Go ManGo!, Stone White, and HEMI Orange.
Mechanically the Daytona was basically an R/T with ten more horses thanks to a more free-breathing exhaust system, for a total of 350. In 2009 the power increased to 368 thanks to a new variable valve timing system. While not as potent as the SRT models, its tribute to vehicles colors and imagery of the muscle car era paved the way for many many of the current “Last Call” models
Stay tuned as the Benna CDJR blog continues this series with the 21-30 ranked best Dodge models.
The Jeep Wrangler is the world’s most recognized vehicle in the world as well as the most off-road capable. Benna CDJR is proud to tell you that for the 2024 model year, Jeep will add new technology, new models, and even more capability. All the changes stay true to the Wrangler heritage of delivering the freedom to go anywhere and do anything.
Overall, the Jeep model line features a new treatment to the front end and its famous 7-slot grille. The front fascia now ends above the bumper with black textured slots and gray metal bezels on most models with trim-level variations. There are also ten new wheel designs.
Changes are even bigger inside with a revised upper dash featuring a 12.3-inch touchscreen powered by the Uconnect 5 operating system, which includes standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Newly available within the Uconnect system are Trails Offroad comprehensive off-road trail guides for the 62 Jeep Badge of Honor trails. An upgradable subscription provides access to the full catalog of 3,000-plus Trails Offroad trail guides

Willys
The 2024 Willys model increases its capability with a standard Tru-Lok rear locker, steel rock rails, 33-inch tires, and the Selec-Trac full-time transfer case with a 4LO ratio of 2.72:1. Also new is a trailer tow and heavy-duty electrical group.

Rubicon
The Rubicon now features a 100:1 crawl ratio. And if that isn’t enough to get you through your rock crawling, there is now an available factory-installed Warn winch with an 8,000 lb. capacity that is mounted in a new steel bumper with removable end caps. The Rubicon also features Jeep’s first full-float Dana rear axle. This consists of a wheel hub assembly that is separate from the axle shaft, with a spindle bolted to the axle tube that supports the wheel hub via a pair of wheel bearings. Thus, the weight of the vehicle is transferred to the axle tube rather than the axle shaft itself so the latter is no longer subjected to torsional loads allowing its sole function to be transmitting power to the wheel hub. This new axle enables a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds on Rubicon non-hybrid models.
The Rubicon X is added to the model line featuring a Rock-Trac full-time transfer case, integrated off-road camera, steel bumpers, and the Xtreme 35 Package with beadlock-capable wheels and 35-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain tires. The 470-horsepower Wrangler Rubicon 392 will also feature the Extreme 35 Package.

High Altitude
The High Altitude model has more standard features, including the Sky One-Touch powertop, 12-way power & heated front seats, integrated front camera, and Selec-Trac full-time transfer case. 20-inch wheels and body-color bumpers also set the High Altitude apart from the rest of the model lineup.

4XE
The Jeep Wrangler 4XE is America’s best-selling plug-in hybrid. With two electric motors, a 400-volt 17-kWh battery pack, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, and TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission, it produces a combined 375 horsepower, 470 lb.-ft. of torque, and 21 EV-only miles. For 2024, Wrangler introduces a more affordable Sport S 4xe model. The 2024 Wrangler 4XE also now offers the Jeep 4XE Power Box, featuring four 120-volt outlets with 30 amps of total output, to allow the battery pack to power external devices for camping or power tools. The Rubicon X is now also available with the 4XE drivetrain, though without the Extreme 35 Package.
Overall, the Jeep continues to find more ways to give people what they have always wanted in a Wrangler: Uncompromised freedom and capability. If you are interested in the 2024 Wrangler, contact Benna CDJR and ask for them to contact you when they start arriving later this year.
Looking to raise the standard in the electric pickup market is the concept of the 2024 Ram EV Pickup. What is an EV vehicle? An EV or an Electric Vehicle is a car that is powered by an electric motor and a rechargeable battery rather than a traditional gasoline or diesel engine. It produces no emissions and is environmentally friendly. Ram has always been ahead of the curve, building some of the most iconic trucks. We are excited here at Benna Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM to be announcing some of the incredible technological advances that have put this new vehicle at the top of the EV pickup list.

Dreaming Big and Pushing Boundaries
With all the competition out there, Ram is gearing to surpass the competition in range, towing, payload, charge time, and innovative technology that is about to change the game. RAM’s EV pickup concept is set to debut in 2024 and boasts impressive specs and features that set it apart from other EV pickups on the market. Ram’s “Shadow mode” is a remarkable new feature that uses sensors and cameras to follow drivers as they walk ahead of the vehicle at a safe distance, avoiding obstacles along the way. Also, there will be a new charger with smart technology that allows this charger to detect when the vehicle is near. This robot can detect not only the presence of vehicles but also its charging needs. It will then automatically move into position and align itself under the vehicle.

More Amazing Benefits
One of the biggest concerns for EV drivers is range anxiety or the fear of running out of battery power while on the road. RAM’s EV pickup concept addresses this concern with an impressive range of over 500 miles on a single charge. This range is thanks to the vehicle’s advanced battery technology and efficient electric motor.
Another feature that is unique is that it does not sacrifice power for efficiency. This vehicle boasts impressive performance with a 0-60 mph time of just over 4 seconds and a top speed of 125 mph. The vehicle’s electric motor delivers instant torque for quick acceleration and responsive handling. Pickup trucks are known for their towing and payload capabilities, and RAM’s EV pickup concept is no exception. This vehicle has a towing capacity of up to 11,000 pounds and a payload capacity of up to 2,000 pounds. These capabilities make the RAM EV pickup concept a versatile vehicle that can handle both work and play.

The Future is Electric
RAM’s 2024 EV pickup concept is poised to surpass the competition in the EV pickup market thanks to its impressive range, powerful performance, robust towing and payload capacity, innovative features, sustainable materials, and competitive pricing. The design team was told to dream big and push boundaries, and after seeing the visuals of this new EV, you can see they have followed through on the design. The new Ram EV pickup is so sleek, sporty, and still has that bruty feel that Ram enthusiast love. This vehicle represents the future of pickup trucks and sets a new standard for efficiency, performance, and sustainability.
As Benna CDJR awaits the arrival of Stellantis Battery Electric Vehicles, it is clear that one of the paradoxes of EVs is that they are the least practical for a group that would probably be most open to the idea. That would be young urbanites. Driving distances are shorter in the city, and much of it involves stop-and-go driving, both of which work in EV’s favor. The younger demographic is also generally more environmentally conscious (they have to live with the consequences longer) and less established in their automotive preferences. The problem is that many of them live in apartments where they have no means of charging overnight. The city of Liverpool, UK, has plans for at least a partial solution.

Adding 300 Chargers to the City
The plan is to install Level 2 chargers on lampposts that line the city streets for use by cars parking curbside. A company called Ubitricity plans to install 300 such charge points around Liverpool. When added to the 150 charge points already in the city, this will give Liverpool the status of third largest public charging network in the country. London and Coventry are first and second, respectively
Regarding London, they are also planning to have Ubitricity add 500 chargers to lampposts in the Westminster area of London. London has a fairly robust charging infrastructure already having had over 6000 public chargers since 2018.” This program puts down a real mark of intent to provide the necessary infrastructure to help the move away from petrol and diesel-powered cars,” said Liverpool city councilor Dan Barrington. “The fact that the roll-out is being led by community requests means the points are going where the demand is needed most which means they’ll be getting maximum usage.”
What the system has going for it is taking advantage of existing electric infrastructure. Ubitricity will be attached 5kW chargers to the lamp posts. They might not fully charge a depleted Hummer EV Pickup overnight, but they could be expected to fully charge the average EV owned by a city dweller. This is presently thought to be one of the most cost-effective and accessible EV charging infrastructure ideas that could be replicated in the U.S.
Due in large part to its size, charging infrastructure in the US by Tesla, Electrify America, ChargePoint, and others has mostly focused on collective charging locations featuring DC-direct fast charging for people traveling from one part of the country to another and adding charging locations to office parking lots. That still leaves out many apartment renters looking to charge their commuters.

Would it Work in the U.S.?
The idea raises several questions in terms of its viability in the U.S. City curbside parking is often in short supply, so would the chances of finding available chargers be too haphazard for city EV drivers to feel confident in their charging ability? Would there be a backlash when spaces by street lamps are reserved for EVs? Would hooligans roam the streets with cable cutters just for spite? And are apartments structured differently enough in the U.S. that promoting charging ability within apartment complex parking would be more effective? These questions and many more are likely to be asked by city planners across the U.S. as they closely watch the Liverpool plan.
In any case, such changes probably may not come to the Superior area any time soon. If you have a place to charge overnight, the EVs planned by Stellantis and coming to Benna CDJR may work for you.
What Makes the 2023 Chrysler 300 extraordinary?

The 2023 Chrysler 300 is the last bastion of the classic American sedan recipe. A reliable engine up front, a luxurious style inside and out, with plenty of room for the family.
More Options For You

For 2023 Chrysler 300 is available in four trim levels: Touring, Touring L, 300S, and the 300C. Touring and Touring L feature Rear-Wheel Drive as standard or optional All-Wheel Drive for all-weather driving here in the Twin Ports area. Both Touring models also offer the award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 motor that puts out 292 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. All 2023 300s come equipped with an 8-speed automatic gearbox that will always keep you in the right gear, or, you can choose to shift yourself with the wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
Stepping up to the 2023 300S allows you to stick with the Pentastar V6, and thanks to a sport exhaust and new engine tuning, the 3.6-liter now makes 300 horsepower and 264 lb-ft of torque. With a 0-60 mph time of 6.3-seconds, EPA estimated fuel economy of 19 mpg city and 30 mpg highway, respectively. With 16.3 cu.ft. of trunk space, you don’t have to compromise on style, sport, luxury, or daily drivability.
American Muscle For Different Budgets

Starting at $34,295 for the 2023 Chrysler 300 Touring, $43,000 for the 300S V6, $46,000 for the 300S V8, and finally, $55,000 for the limited edition 300C.
Let’s say you want a sedan with American Muscle Car standards. Well, that’s where the 300 has you covered. Optional on the 300S is the tried and true Hemi 5.7-liter V8 that throws 363 horses and 394 lb-ft of torque at the pavement for an absolute thrill ride.
What if you still want even more punch for your all-American dollar? Well then do I have a surprise for you. You can also get the 2023 Chrysler 300C, powered by a 6.4-liter heart-thumping V8 with 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. Now that’s a rocket in luxury car clothing.
Luxury Is What 300 Means

Since 1955 the Chrysler 300 has been defined by its luxury car value. This is no different with all of the trim levels on the 2023 300. A beautiful, soft-touch leather interior is standard on the 300 Touring L. With an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen multimedia display, a powerful Alpine sound system, Bi-Xenon headlights, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM, heated seats front and rear, heated steering wheel, USB chargers for the rear occupants, adaptive cruise control with full-stop feature, automatic high-beams, advanced brake-assist, and so much more, all for under $50,000. What are you really paying for when choosing a German luxury rival costing tens of thousands more?
Size where it matters

We have discussed how the Chrysler 300 can fit within your budget with different trim levels and engines, plus all-wheel drive for safety in all weather conditions, but how is it as a family sedan? As mentioned before, the trunk space is rather good at 16.3 cu.ft. Once you are inside the interior, you will appreciate 122.6 cu.ft. of overall interior volume, rear passengers will have 40.1 inches of legroom, 57.7 inches for their shoulders, 56.1 inches of hip room, and between 36.9 and 37.9 inches of headroom, depending on if you have the dual-pane sunroof option or not.

Kick it Up with the 2024 Dodge Charger

While the gasoline-powered production of the 2023 Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger are coming to a close, Dodge still lusts after making high horsepower pony and muscle cars. This time, for 2024, they have shown off the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT electric concept car.
We still have to learn a lot about the upcoming electric-only Charger, but what we do know should excite the masses. Dodge has said the trim levels so far will be the 340, 440, and the SRT Banshee. Banshee… don’t they always come up with the coolest names? The numbers indicate how much horsepower the car will have in kilowatts. Horsepower is said to be 455 for the 340 kW and 590 for the 440 kW trim. For reference, 100 horsepower equals 74.57kW, or 100kW equals 134 horsepower. The SRT Banshee will ride on an 800-volt, all-wheel drive platform. We aren’t sure of the power ratings yet, but I can imagine Dodge will make an immense amount of power that will make everyone giggle like schoolchildren.
The concept car shown is the SRT Banshee trim level.
Going Back To Their Roots

While we aren’t sure how many doors the Charger will eventually have, the concept car shows off an incredibly retro style 2-door modeled very closely after the 1969 and ‘70 model years. The Charger was always a coupe, but when Dodge brought it back out in 2006 for its sixth generation, it debuted sporting four doors.
Modern Solutions

Dodge is patenting three different features that are on the Daytona SRT concept car.
EV Dodge Charger will feature a multi-speed transmission that aids an electric vehicle in having more range and better performance when traveling at faster speeds. Dodge calls their system the eRupt, which also has a unique shifting feel, unlike any EV before it. They say it will feel more like a “normal” transmission when it shifts. A multi-speed gearbox is also used in the Porsche Taycan for similar reasons, however, without the shifting experience which Dodge says is pure Dodge.
The R-Wing is a front wing/splitter that has the classic Challenger and Charger profile with aerodynamics in mind. This will aid in keeping the front of the car planted at fast speeds while also directing air in any way the engineers and designers have deemed necessary for performance.

The third and final feature is potentially their most interesting: the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, which is a first on an electric vehicle. Dodge say the new EV Charger will have an exhaust sound that rivals the current gas-powered Hellcat’s supercharged 6.2-liter V8.
This Isn’t The End
While I am sure we are all sad to see the wonderful pony and muscle cars with monstrous V8s ride off into the sunset, there is a whole new level of excitement and enthusiasm building around the seemingly boundless ideas and performance of modern Electric Vehicles. And, the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona SRT shows us that there is a lot coming down the road ahead for the enthusiast who loves power and speed.

LAST CALL! The last gasoline-powered Dodge Charger and Challenger models are being produced right now as you’re reading this. So why are you still here? Shouldn’t you be calling to get your order in?
For 2023 Dodge are making six special edition Charger and Challenger trims called the “Last Call”. For the Challenger, you can get the Shakedown, Black Ghost, and Swinger. The Charger gets the Super Bee, Swinger, and King Daytona. A super special, ultra-rare Challenger, the SRT Demon 170, was just announced in March.
Since you are still here, let’s talk about some of what makes the Challenger and Charger so great. Obviously, the V8 engines, right? Well, hold on for a second. We shouldn’t forget to mention that in the SXT and GT trim levels, you can option All-Wheel Drive with the award-winning Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 that puts out 303 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque. All of that for a base price of $31,100 and $33,200 for the Challenger and Charger, respectively. That’s not a lot of money for muscle car looks that get you up to 19 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. That’s wild, child.
Oh, Shift!

All R/T and SRT Challengers come standard with a Tremec TR-6060 6-speed manual gearbox. Optional on the V8 Challengers and standard on the V6, as well as the only transmission offered on all Chargers, is the popular TorqueFlight 8-speed automatic gearbox with shift paddles on the steering wheel.
1960s Muscle 2023 Style

I see you haven’t left yet, which makes me think you want to hear about V8s. Charger and Challenger both offer the R/T, R/T Scat Pack, SRT Hellcat, and SRT Hellcat Redeye, as well as the SRT Super Stock exclusively as a Challenger trim.
Your choice of V8s are the tried and true 5.7-liter Hemi in the RT models that make 372 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Hopping up to the RT Scat Pack gets you the massive 392 Hemi, a 6.4-liter pushing out 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. But, if that’s not enough for you, you’re welcome to step up to the Hellcat range that features a supercharged 6.2-liter 717 horsepower. However, if that’s entirely too pedestrian for you, Dodge also offers the same
supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat in the Redeye and SRT Super Stock trim levels, which puts out a nuclear-level 797 horsepower in the Redeye and 807 horsepower in the Super Stock, both of which have 707 lb-ft of torque.
Jailbreak Your Car

As a final send-off, any SRT vehicle can be customized with what Dodge is calling “Jailbreak”. When ordering your vehicle, you can choose from any combination of 14 exterior colors, 10 stripes and, or decals, 5 brake caliper colors, 3 or more wheel styles, and 10 various interior trim and color options. For the Hellcat Redeye trim, Jailbreak also takes the horsepower from 797 to 807.
Living Life 1,320 Feet At A Time

For 2023, the Challenger R/T Scat Pack can be optioned with the 1320 package (1,320 feet is a ¼ mile), giving the car the 8-speed automatic transmission, a TransBrake that locks the output shaft of the transmission during a standing drag racing start, Nexen SUR4G drag spec tires, specially tuned damping featuring a Drag Mode, Torque Reserve that helps manage fuel flow through the motor when using launch control and TransBraking for a quarter mile start, a 3.09 final drive with a limited-slip differential, a 41-spline rear axle shaft from the Dodge Demon, Line Lock to hold the front brakes to allow for easier burnouts to warm the rear tires, launch assist and launch control which both help to gain traction during hard launches, special wheels, Brembo brakes, and only a driver’s seat, saving 114 lbs of weight. The rest of the seats can be optioned back into the car for $1.
If none of what I have told you seems enough for you, you can always just go ahead and get the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170. Production is limited to 3,300 in America and 300 in Canada, so act fast. The SRT Demon 170 features the same 6.2-liter supercharged V8 in the Hellcat models but ups the ante to 1,025 horsepower. With a 0-60 time of 1.66 seconds, and will fly through the quarter mile in 8.91 seconds at 151.17 mph.

Sorting Through the Challenger Lineup
Sports car fans who have trouble keeping up with the many Porsche 911 variations that keep getting introduced have nothing on current Dodge Challenger fans. 2023 is the last year for the Challenger and it is going out with a bang, or more like a series of bangs from a string of very large firecrackers. Currently, Dodge’s website shows 11 trim levels for the 2023 Dodge Challenger, but that doesn’t yet include four “Last Call” models that say farewell to the Challenger with additional special editions. Let Benna CDJR help you figure out what they all are.
V-6 Models
The entry-level Challenger is the SXT which comes with a 3.6-liter V6 that produces 303 hp. That is more power than two of the Challenger V-8 engines offered in the 70s. The GT is an upgraded trim level, adding a performance suspension and both exterior and interior enhancements. Both the SXT and GT are available with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is not available on any V-8 powered Challengers.
R/T
The entry to the world of V-8 Challengers is the R/T which originally stood for “Rapid Transit”. The R/T has a 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 that produces 375 horsepower and is available with a choice of a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic. With a single hood scoop and 20-inch wheels, the R/T looks similar to the GT.

R/T Scat Pack
Next up is the series of Scat Pack models that take their name from a performance package on the original model in the 70s. Any Challenger with “Scat Pack” in its name has a 6.4-liter Hemi® that produces 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. With the engine comes Brembo four-piston brakes and both Line Lock and Launch Control.
The Scat Pack is also available in a Widebody variation that is found on other Challengers trims. To improve high-speed handling, the front and rear fenders flair out noticeably to contain wider tires and an approximately two-inch wider front and rear track. The front brakes upgrade to 6-piston Brembo units.
SRT Hellcat and Redeye (2022)
Now is when things start to get crazy. In 2015, Dodge introduced the Challenger SRT Hellcat which featured a Supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that produced 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. No muscle car had come close to this kind of output. The SRT Hellcat Redeye boosts the engine further to produce 797 hp and 707 lb-ft of torque. Both Hellcat and Redeye had Widebody versions. The Hellcats and Redeye trim levels did not reach the 2023 model year, but 2022 models are still available.
SRT Hellcat Jailbreak
For 2023, both Hellcat and Hellcat Redeye models gave way to the SRT Hellcat Jailbreak model and its variants. The Jailbreak squeezes another 10 horsepower from the Redeye engine to reach 807 horsepower and the same peak torque of 707 lb-ft. All Jailbreak versions are available with the Widebody exterior.
SRT Superstock
Until recently, the Superstock could bill itself as the “Fastest, most powerful muscle car in the world” and it is basically a street-legal factory drag racer. While still using the Jailbreak’s supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with the same power output, the Superstock is fitted with 315/40R18 Nitto Nt05R Drag Radial Tires on 8×11-Inch Low-Gloss Granite Crystal Wheels.

“Last Call” trims
For its farewell to the Challenger and Charger, Dodge has issued seven “Last Call” limited edition models, four of which are Challengers. These recall names from the first Challenger era and are mostly cosmetically enhanced versions of existing models.
- R/T Scat Pack Shakedown
This features the shaker hood scoop that is directly attached to the engine rather than the hood and features full-length black and red racing stripes. The interior sports microsuede accents and red details. Normal models are in a chalk gray while Widebody models are black. - R/T Scat Pack Swinger
The Swinger recalls the 70s-era Super Bee theme with gold wheels and gold “Bee” logo badging. - Black Ghost
Based on the Jailbreak Widebody, the 300-run Black Ghost recalls a single 1970 Challenger R/T that gained a mythical aura in the Detroit street racing scene. Exclusively in black, its most notable feature is a gator-skin design on the roof as a modern take on the original’s black vinyl roof. Other retro references are black hood pins and a chrome fuel door.

SRT Demon 170
This is the final “Final Call” model and it is quite the swan song. The supercharged 6.2-liter V8 is boosted to an astounding 1,025 horsepower and 945 l.b-ft .of torque. It is expected to do 0-60 in 1.66 seconds and run the quarter mile in 8.91 seconds. “170” refers to the alcohol-proof content of ethanol because the horsepower figures come from running on E85 fuel. With 91-octane gas, the 170 produces 900 horses. While there will be a street tire option, the Demon 170’s default footwear are Mickey Thompson ET Street R tires, with 245/55R-18s in front and a massive 315/50R-17s at the rear. 3300 Demon 170s will be made.

It will come to little surprise to anyone that our Benna CDJR Jeep owners are among the most enthusiastic about their vehicles. Every spring, Jeep fans meet at beautiful Moab, Utah, for the Easter Jeep Safari. It’s a big off-road party where the Jeep faithful meet, compare their rides, and give them exercise. Naturally, with so many Jeep fans present, Jeep itself made a splash with no less than seven concept vehicles.
The Wrangler is the heart of Jeep and thus made up the base of four of the seven concepts but also present were the Gladiator, Grand Wagoneer, and even a very modified 1978 Cherokee. Drivetrains were also diverse, with a mix of gasoline-powered engines and electron-pushing EVs driving the fat off-road tires. Here are our favorites.
Magneto 3.0

This was a final encore for a concept that has been making the rounds since 2020. It is a two-seat Wrangler concept driven by a single electric motor sending power through a six-speed transmission. It appeared this year in a very surf-like blue and white exterior. Possibly showing off bits and pieces that will make it to the upcoming production Recon EV, the Magneto features dual driving modes. The mode for distance and conventional driving limits power to 285 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque, which closely mirrors today’s V-6-powered Wrangler. The other mode is very “other” indeed, with 650 horses and 900 lb-ft, In that mode, the Magneto can start in any of its six gear ratios, so the transmission acts as a bit of a drive mode selector, with 1st and 2nd devoted to slow rock crawling, 3rd and 4th for faster desert, 5th and 6th for highway cruising. Such a drivetrain arrangement could be perfect for future Jeep EVs.
Scrambler 392

At first glance, the Scrambler 392 looks very much like a lime-green Magneto 3.0, particularly with the 2-seat configuration and hexagonal doorless access created by the slanting B-Pillar bodywork over a roll bar. But this is built off a 4-door Wrangler, so behind its two seats is a longer wheelbase and open bed with a tailgate courtesy of the Gladiator. As the name implies, under the hood is the 392 cubic inch V8 available on the Wrangler Rubicon. Its 20-inch wheels are dwarfed by 40-inch tires behind, which is a new Mopar AccuAir air suspension that can raise the vehicle between 1.5 and 5.5 inches at any time via either a control switch inside or by smartphone app.
1978 Cherokee 4XE

This is a mash-up of a vintage Cherokee body over a Wrangler 4xe Plug-in hybrid chassis. The yellow exterior goes full nostalgia with 70s exterior graphics and slotted deep-dish mag wheels. The Cherokee’s original blue-tint windshield is in place, as are the wind vents, which can only be thought of as ironic since the rest of the vehicle is window-free. Besides the turbocharged 2.0-liter four and two electric motors, a 4xe also donated its dash and steering wheel though with a continuation of the exterior color scheme. It is a great tribute to an iconic mode.
Grand Wagoneer Overland

Instead of showing up Land Rovers in high-rent shopping districts, this Grand Wagoneer is ready to take two people deep into no man’s land while still providing plush accommodations overnight for two. The latter is courtesy of a $30,000 RedTail Overland roof tent complete with carbon-fiber walls, solar panels, double-pane windows, and climate control. Normally you’d access the tent via a ladder outside, but here you enter from the Grand Wagoneer’s repositioned rear sunroof. And there is no standing on the upholstery to get up there because this Overland takes its accommodations for two to heart by removing the 2nd and 3rd-row seats and creating a living room with a throw rug, bean bag chairs, throw pillows, and a reconfigured version of the Grand Wagoneer’s available McIntosh entertainment system. The overland is powered by the Grand Wagoneer’s available 3.0-liter Hurricane Twin-Turbo inline-6 producing 510 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. The exterior is Industrial green, facing into gunmetal details. In front is an integrated Warn winch and two sets of laser lights, and the whole thing rolls on 18-inch wheels with 35-inch tires.

These are four of what we found to be the most interesting concepts Jeep brought to Moab. While all of these vehicles involved some very extensive customization, they sport plenty of off-shelf Mopar accessories for the details, including Warn winches, external lighting, custom wheels, and skid plates, among others. If you want to make your Jeep or Ram or any other Stellanis vehicle a little more you, check out the Benna CDJR Mopar accessories on our site or at our Superior, Wisconsin location.
