Benna Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram

As a driver, you are expected to keep your eyes on the road. As a parent, you are expected to keep your eyes on your kids.  This has long been a conundrum for parents while driving but the Pacifica Minivan model line found here at Benna Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Superior, Wisconsin, provides the answer.

Chrysler Pacifica Driving Through Snow

The Fam Cam is found on both the Pacifica and Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid.  You can see it as a black curved disc above the 2nd-row seats, but what is important is how you can see through it.  The Fam Cam control is found in the Vehicles menu on the dash touchscreen.  Activate it to view an onscreen image of everyone in the 2nd and 3rd-row seats.  When you tap on a seat on the digital display, you will get a closeup of that seat on the right side of the display.

Chrysler Pacifica Fam Cam

Better than Eyes in the Back of Your Head

The Fam Cam can be useful whenever there are people in the rear of the Pacifica, but it is particularly invaluable when using rear-facing car seats.  These child seats have been proven to be the safest position for babies to ride in a car.  All child seats are required to be installed in the rear seat; most likely a 2nd-row seat for the Pacifica.  This is a result of front seating airbag placement and lack of LATCH attachments.  Normally, with a rear-facing car seat in the 2nd-row, inhibits your view of your child.  With the Fam Cam, due to camera placement, you are provided a perfect view looking directly down on them.  There are settings for daytime, nighttime, and even an infrared setting for when it’s pitch dark.  No matter what time of day, you can see everything.

Chrysler Pacifica Back Up Camera

Keep an Eye Around the Outside As Well

The Fam Cam is accompanied by the 360-degree surround view camera system which allows you to see all around the Pacifica as if you were hovering above it.  That scooter leaned up against the tailgate will be in full view, or you’ll know if you just placed your front passenger next to a mud puddle.  And you will always be able to position the Pacifica perfectly within your parking spot.  With the Pacifica Pinnacle, you’ll have a full view inside and a full view outside.

Experience safety and reliability of the new Chrysler Pacifica here at our Benna location in Superior on Tower Ave. Check out the Fam Cam and 360-degree surround view camera for yourself, along with additional amazing Pacifica features. Mopar EV Charger

Whether you’ve been searching for your next vehicle or just spent some time on the road, you’ve probably noticed the growing numbers of electric vehicles and charging stations. That’s because many car manufacturers like Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM have committed to electrifying the future by producing emission-free vehicles. But did you know that the EV isn’t actually a recent phenomenon? In fact, they’ve been around for nearly 200 years, and you can learn more about how they started and where they’re headed with Benna CDJR.

Rocky Start to Worldwide Takeover

Most people think of the Model T or other combustion engine when they think of the first car. However, in an effort to distance from horse and buggies, people of the early 1800s found ways to produce the first true electric vehicles. Of course, the technology of the time wasn’t up to par, and problems like a top speed of 14 MPH and single-use batteries were impractical. As innovation continued, there were some improvements, but all of those were trampled by the affordable cars made by Ford in the early 1900s and EVs were essentially forgotten.

That is, until the gas crisis of the 1970s made people rethink the way they traveled. Drivers worldwide were looking for ways to reduce their dependence on gasoline, and engineers got to work making a modern electric car that drivers would actually want to use. It took nearly 20 years, but eventually the Toyota Prius was released to immediate worldwide success. The Prius made huge waves with the convenient hybrid model, and other automakers took notice. With the success of the Tesla and other early hybrid and electric vehicles, it was the first time in history that the EV could become a reality.

Fast forward to today’s climate crisis and rising costs, and there’s more value in an electric vehicle than ever before. Electric vehicles are no longer limited to tiny cars with short range; in fact, there are options for every driver’s needs. There’s the Chrysler Pacifica hybrid that boosts milage for families looking to save on fuel, and the new Dodge Hornet, a hybrid compact SUV that’s as affordable as it is convenient. Even muscle car enthusiasts can get in on the electric revolution, with plans for electric Charger and Challenger models coming in the next few years. RAM fans can get everything they want out of a truck in a platform they recognize with a hybrid engine they’ll love. So even though it seems that things are moving fast, it’s really been nearly two centuries in the making for an all-electric world.

Ram 1500, Rugged Reliability, Car and Driver 10Best Award

Benna CDJR of Superior, Wisconsin, is proud to announce the Ram 1500 has won a Car and Driver 10Best award for the fifth consecutive year. Among the winning group of SUVs and trucks, Ram was the only full-size pickup to make the list. Ram offered the 2023 Ram 1500 Limited and Ram 1500 TRX for evaluation; the award applies to the entire 2023 Ram 1500 model line.

Testing occurred for two weeks during which Car and Driver editors drove, measured, and evaluated more than 55 cars, trucks, SUVs, and vans. All vehicles had to have a base price at or below $110,000. To earn its 10Best award, Car and Driver states: “Each winner leads its segment and offers the refinement, practicality, and value we look for during judging. Those virtues shouldn’t come at the expense of the driving experience. Satisfying performance and entertaining vehicle dynamics are a requirement for every 10Best winner, no matter its shape, size, or segment”.

For everyone looking for a full-size pickup, which is a lot of Americans, the Ram 1500 meets all your needs and exceeds expectations. Its coil-spring rear suspension provides luxury-SUV-like ride quality, making the bouncy competition feel like farm trucks,” said Joey Capparella, senior editor, Car and Driver. “The Ram’s interior is its most surprising and delightful attribute. The upper trim levels feature carefully selected materials—leather, metal trim, open-pore wood—and the kind of attention to detail we expect in a Mercedes-Benz S-class. Even basic versions have sound ergonomics, crisp digital displays, and buttons and knobs that are satisfying to the touch. Chrysler’s luxurious Imperial brand may have died long ago, but its spirit lives on in today’s Ram.”

Other features pointed out in their review include:

  • Optional split tailgate
  • Air springs for lower that Ram for loading or hooking up a trailer
  • Lockable storage boxes in the bed walls

Car and Driver isn’t alone in their assessment as J.D. Power’s most recent APEAL Study named the 2022 RAM 1500 the large light-duty pickup for the third year in a row. The APEAL Study measures the emotional bond between customers, which is determined from customer feedback about a range of vehicle attributes, from ingress and egress to driving comfort, during the first three months of ownership.

Ram 1500 Parked in Driveway

We at Benna CDJR are the least surprised by these accolades. Being witness to Ram 1500’s greatness for years, stop by and test drive a Ram 1500 for your full-size pickup needs. You will not only be matched with the best truck on the market, also our unsurpassed 20-year/20,000-mile warranty, knowledgeable sales staff, and helpful Finance Department.  For the fifth straight year, we congratulate Ram for their excellent product.

Ram’s ancestral brand Dodge, pioneered the extended Club Cab and 4-door Crew Cabs for the modern pickup. These are Ideas were so popular that almost every Ram 1500 in our Benna CDJR inventory now has 4-doors. Ram is continuing that tradition by floating the idea of a third row of seats in their Ram 1500 Revolution EV pickup concept. Anticipating this production idea into actuality.

Such a possibility is a direct result of the greater flexibility that comes with electric vehicles. Beginning with the fact that electric motors are a fraction of the size of equivalently-powered gas engines. Batteries can be flat, and positioned under the floor freeing the need to find space for a fuel tank. Add the elimination of a transmission and drive shaft, and you have significantly increased space to work with than a gas-powered vehicle with the same purpose. From the frame up, designers viewed the Revolution as a “clean sheet of paper,” said Ryan Nagode, chief designer of Ram truck/commercial interior studios, who states that their goal was making the pickup truck more user-friendly and versatile.

The 3rd row consists of jump seats, which can be folded out for use or retracted for extra cabin space. To make room, the Ram 1500 Revolution cab is four inches longer then the current Ram 1500 and is pushed forward into the smaller front section that no longer houses an engine. “We really wanted to make sure that cabin space was as optimized as it possibly could,” Nagode told Automotive News. “When you move some of that stuff forward, we knew we wanted to maintain a decent-size bed. Those inches that you were gaining were going right into the cabin, and the idea was just to flex this space.”

Additional innovation includes a vertically-split tailgate hinged on each side, which when combined with an extendable bed floor with flip up panels at the end, significantly increases the length of the cargo bed. For even more cargo space, the “midgate” between the cabin and bed can retract the rear window and fold forward to be flat with the cargo bed. With this added combined enhancement of the extended bed, the 1500 Revolution can haul objects as long as 18 feet. Inside the cabin, both seats and the console can be repositioned by a rail attachment system in the floor the designers named “Ram Track”. This rail system actually extends to the “frunk”, which is the lockable cargo space where the engine normally would be.

Of course the Ram 1500 Revolution innovations go beyond passenger and cargo configurations. There are extensive technology innovation additions as well,  such as portable touchscreens, biometric recognition, head up display (HUD) replacing the gauge cluster, and illuminating interior lighting, to name a few. Also envisioned as being equipped with Level 3+ autonomous driving capability.

The Ram 1500 Revolution concept is just that; a concept, at this time. Some of these ideas will make their way into production, while others due to durability, long-term reliability, cost and other practical considerations, will remain as ideas to be worked on. But it does show the kind of thinking that goes into every Ram model Benna CDJR of Superior, Wisconsin current carry.

2023 Jeep Wrangler High Tide on Beach

Fans of the beach can rejoice; the limited-edition Jeep Wrangler High Tide is back again for 2023! If you missed out on previous model years, this is good news, although the High Tide will still be available only in limited quantities. This year’s offering brings some new colors and graphics into the mix with all the performance and capability loved in previous years. Want to know more? Keep reading to learn what the High Tide is capable of!

Make Waves in the High Tide

The High Tide has some obvious upgrades from other Wranglers, even at first glance. It has several similarities to the four-door Sport S model, like the 3.6L V6 Engine with eTorque. However, the list of standard features on the High Tide is long, tailored exclusively for driving on the beach. The LED headlamps and fog lamps allow for nighttime adventures, and the 35-inch tires sit on 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels to easily tackle the sand. A Sunrider for Hardtop allows for easy access to the open ocean air while protecting from sudden rainstorms.

When it’s time to hit those oceanside mountains, the High Tide is ready with heavy-duty steel rock rails. A 1.5-inch lifted suspension makes way for whatever lies ahead, and matching shocks make for a smoother ride over rough terrain. Even more help comes from the Selec-Trac Full-Time 4WD that’s ready for anything. Inside, there’s surprising function and comfort with all-weather floor mats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. There are two interior color options and six exterior colors, all of which are topped off with exclusive High Tide decals. Further customization is available with optional packages like the Convenience Group, Technology Group, and Advanced Safety Group.
