That is the question of when the first production 2021 Ram 1500 TRX will go up for bid at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction on March 20-27.
VIN 001 is the first of 702 Ram 1500 TRX Launch Edition models to be produced at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant in Michigan. It will arrive at the auction block in trim-exclusive Anvil Gray and a special authentication kit.
The winning bid will have their auction fees waived. Proceeds from the sale will go to the United Way for Southeastern Michigan’s 2-1-1 helpline. That helpline provides services to veterans and their families.

The Ram 1500 is further distinguished by its aggressive hood scoop, flowthrough “RAM” lettering on the grille, and raised overall height. The ground clearance of 11.8 inches is augmented with a 13-inch front suspension travel and a 14-inch rear suspension travel. All of which are designed to absorb everything from rocks to ruts to the roads of the Twin Ports. Plus, there are eight drive modes to choose from – including Snow, Rock, and Mud and Sand – all will be useful here in Northern Wisconsin and up in the Iron Range.
