The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the three-row Jeep Grand Cherokee L scored the highest
possible ratings in all four IIHS crashworthiness tests, earning the TOP SAFETY PICK+ ratings
from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). These categories include small overlap
front – driver-side, small overlap front – passenger-side, moderate overlap front – original test
and side impact – updated test.
This all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee earned the highest safety rating in nighttime conditions and
an “advanced” rating in daytime vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations with its Full-Speed Collision
Warning with Active Braking and Pedestrian/Cyclist Detection, otherwise standardly known as
as Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) technology. The Intersection Collision Assist detects
pedestrians and cyclists approaching the driver’s left and right side when nearing a crossroad.
Visible and audible responses will activate if deemed necessary and will automatically brake the
vehicle, even to a complete stop to aide in preventing a possible collision.
The Drowsy Driver Detection feature tracks behaviors like that of a “drowsy” driver, such as
lane deviation. The system will react with audio and/or visual cautions for the driver to pull
over. The Grand Cherokee also earned the highest possible headlight rating for its high-beam
assist, the unique array of cameras and sensors.
