The Jeep Grand Cherokee L Is Here!

2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L truckload Detroit Assembly Mack Avenue

The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L has arrived at Superior Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram soon. The first vehicles just rolled off the new Detroit Assembly Complex on Mack Avenue – a location where many of the legendary MOPAR vehicles were assembled.

This is the first assembly plant to open in the city of Detroit in thirty years. This endeavor took $1.6 billion to convert two engine plants and add a new paint shop to create the most modern assembly complex in North America.

What has changed

We will be duly rewarded with the new Grand Cherokee L here in the Twin Ports. Riding on a new 121.7-inch wheelbase, the three-row Grand Cherokee L can seat up to seven passengers. Getting to the third row will be helped with longer rear side doors enabling access to both the second and third rows. The Grand Cherokee L is built on a brand new unibody structure.

Four Wheel Drive Options

Though it has grown a third row of seats, the new Grand Cherokee L retains all of Jeep’s DNA, including excellent four-wheel-drive traction. Customers have a choice of three four-wheel-drive systems: Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II, and Quadra-Drive II. These systems are also augmented by the Selec-Terrain traction management system and the available Quadra-Lift air suspension. Combined, the Grand Cherokee L will be able handle anything from the Upper Peninsula and the Boundary Waters.

You will have a choice of a 290-horsepower 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and the 357-horsepower 5.7-liter V8. Both engines will be mated to the TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic. The Grand Cherokee L will also feature a front-axle disconnect which will automatically cancel the use of the front axle when only two wheels need to be driven instead of four.

The new Grand Cherokee L will be a technological feast for the eyes and ears. The new Uconnect 5 infotainment system will be featured in this newest SUV in a new 10-inch touchscreen, along with available audio systems from audiophile specialist McIntosh. Included in the Uconnect 5 will be a segment first wireless smartphone integration for Apple and Android devices. The instrument cluster will be housed in a new 10-inch screen that is customizable to the driver. A new Head-up Display will be added to select models.

Safety is also highlighted in the new Grand Cherokee L. Among these are L2 driver-assisted systems with hands-on automated driving. Other features also include a 360-degree surround view and night vision cameras. These are among 110 safety and driver-assistance features on the new Grand Cherokee L.

Motor Trend Argues That Driving a Jeep Wagoneer is Better Than Flying

We often think that the best way to travel is by air, even if it’s down to the Twin Cities from Duluth Airport. However, Motor Trend argues that it may not be the best way to fly to your destination. Their suggestion? A Jeep Wagoneer. The Motor Trend team decided to take a road trip between Los Angeles and San Francisco to prove this. That is about a 383-mile one-way trip between California’s two major cities. The writer and their family were just about to fly between the two cities – citing ticket costs, long lines at the TSA, and overpriced airport food – when the idea was to simply take a Wagoneer to make the trip instead. Think of this test in terms of our usual long-distance driving. The Twin Cities is only 153 miles from the Twin Ports. An equivalent trip to the one Motor Trend took would be to Milwaukee – 392 miles away. You can simply make the trip by settling into the Wagoneer’s three rows of seats and large cargo area to take more than the airline’s standard baggage allowance. You will love how quiet it is inside, so the kids can either nap or play with their devices. Some Wagoneer models can be equipped with UConnect Theater – our “in-flight entertainment” system. In-flight snacks? Every row of seating has access to a multitude of cup holders. Since you’re on your own schedule, a stop at a gas station means you can get anything you want – not just peanuts and pretzels. Every Wagoneer and Wagoneer L is powered by a 420-horsepower 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged Hurricane six-cylinder engine. It only takes one press of the pedal for a smooth takeoff. Of course, every landing is equally smooth with the Wagoneer’s powerful braking system. A 26.5-gallon fuel tank also means a longer distance while paying less for fuel than an airline ticket. A Wagoneer with four-wheel drive can average up to 23 MPG – an estimated range of up to 609 miles. There is no need to fuel up between the Twin Ports and Milwaukee. While the Motor Trend people set up their tailgate at Oracle Park in San Francisco, you can do the same in your Wagoneer at American Family Field. You’ll be so comfortable that you may end up listening to Bob Uecker calling the game instead on your UConnect 5 infotainment system. Read more: Stellantis Vehicles, Collect Multiple Awards at 2023 TAWA Auto Roundup How Much Does the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Cost? Now, let’s get right down to it. How much does the 2024 Jeep Wrangler cost? Of course, the answer depends on which model you choose. For the 2024 production year, the Jeep Wrangler is available in three configurations: 2-door, 4-door, and 4xe (the plug-in hybrid model). What’s more, there are four different engines to choose from: a 2.0-liter turbocharged PHEV 4xe with 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque; a 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine that generates up to 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque; a 3.6-liter V-6 that serves up 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque; and, last but not least, a top-of-the-line 6.4-liter V-8 behemoth with power ratings of up to 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. 2024 Jeep Wrangler Trim Levels Furthermore, all of these Wrangler customizations can be found across the following trim levels: Sport, Sport S, Willys, Sahara, High Altitude, Rubicon, Rubicon X and Rubicon 392. Please note, however, that only half of the trim grades come with all three configurations of the 2024 Wrangler. The other half of the lineup, on the other hand, is only able to offer one or two of them. For more information on which configurations are available on which trim levels, as well as all of their respective starting U.S. manufacturer's suggested retail prices (MSRPs), take a moment to explore our detailed outline below. Starting MSRPs for Each 2024 Wrangler Model So, without further ado, here are the starting MSRPs for each 2024 Jeep Wrangler model (excluding the $1,795 destination fee). On the base Sport trim, the 2-Door starts at $31,895 while the 4-Door configuration begins at $35,895. The next trim level, Sport S, looks like this: $35,395 for the 2-Door, $39,395 for the 4-Door, and $49,995 for the 4xe. Then, when Willys enters the conversation, it steps things up as follows: $39,395 for the 2-Door, $43,395 for the 4-Door, and $54,735 for the 4xe. Sahara, however, skips the 2-Door, as it only offers either a $47,825 4-Door model or a $56,845 4xe. Then, to begin the second half of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler lineup, the High Altitude is only available as a 4xe for $66,995. Luckily, the Rubicon returns with all three configurations available; starting at $45,395 for the 2-Door, $49,395 for the 4-Door, and $60,585 for the 4xe. Next, while the Rubicon X is the penultimate trim grade, it is, nonetheless, the final one with all three configurations of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler. In exchange, it asks for $54,895 for the 2-Door, $58,895 for the 4-Door, and $69,085 for the 4xe. Last but certainly not least, residing at the top of this year’s lineup, one will find a lone Rubicon 392 4-Door with a starting MSRP of $87,595.
