4xe batteries are safely sealed behind a waterproof casing to help you traverse bodies of water up to 31.5 inches deep. That means Wrangler 4xe offers the same water fording capability as its gas-powered counterparts, sacrificing nothing.

A powerful 17.3 kWh battery lies at the center of each Jeep® Brand 4xe vehicle. The Jeep® Brand is working to establish a Jeep® 4xe Charging Network across America for 4xe owners. These stations will allow you to continue your electrified adventures in some of the most remote destinations, including Jeep® Badge of Honor off-road trailheads. Travel with confidence wherever you go, thanks to uncompromised capability that maintains the spirit and authenticity of the Jeep® Brand. Charging your Wrangler 4xe is simple. An included Level 1 charging cable will fully charge the battery in 12 hours, while an available and simple-to-use Free2move Charge Level 2 EV Charger 7 can fully charge your Wrangler 4xe battery in approximately 2 hours so you can get back to your all-electric adventure.

Jeep Wrangler 4xe Hybrid, the Industry's First Electrified Open Air SUV

As the Industry's First Electrified Open-Air SUV® and the Most Planet-Friendly Wrangler Ever®, the Jeep ® Wrangler 4xe is already a legend when it comes to modern off-road capability. With 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque paired with ability to go 0-60 mph in 6 seconds, the  Jeep ® Wrangler 4xe has the power and performance capabilities to take you anywhere you would like to go. A manufacturer estimated 370-mile total driving range, you can expand your idea of adventure with electric vehicles. 

The Jeep® Wrangler 4xe employs three versatile modes to keep you running more efficiently on any terrain. Electric Mode allows for nearly zero tailpipe emissions up to highway speeds. The Wrangler 4xe can run on this mode for a distance of up to 21 total miles of total electric usage on a full charge. When you put your Jeep® Brand 4xe vehicle in Electric mode you can bask in the natural wonders around you. The near silent EV performance lets you tune into the sounds of the outdoors. Add in the open-air freedom of Wrangler 4xe and you can truly blend into your surroundings.



Jeep Wrangler 4xe employs three drive modes to keep you running efficiently.

The default Hybrid Mode combines torque from both the PHEV powertrain with 2.0L DOHC DI Turbo I4 engine and the electric motor. This combination provides maximum horsepower, instant torque and thrilling acceleration. In this mode, electric power is consumed first.


eSave Mode prioritizes the 2.0L engine, saving battery charge for later use. When power demand is low, the engine shuts off. It can also be reconfigured to increase the battery charge as well. The regenerative braking feature allows the battery to be charged when decelerating and braking. The Max Regeneration feature remaps the accelerator pedal to command more aggressive regeneration at low pedal positions. It allows you to slow the vehicle down without the brake pedal, but a complete stop always requires the brake pedal. It also stays selected until you turn it off. The battery can be fully charged in approximately 2 hours using an available Level 2 charger 5 (240V), or 12 hours using the included Level 1 charger (120V). With the ability to recharge your Jeep® at home and work, you can enjoy the benefits of fully electric daily commutes.
